After that incident and after much discussion, He made it clear that, first of all, what they did or did not do was irrelevant with us and, secondly, that He gains no pleasure from beating someone who shows no reaction. Practically every Top says the same thing. Beating an unresponsive bottom is 1. boring and 2. feels unsafe
Most new subs also have the wrong impression - that saying their safeword is somehow not done
I make it a practice to push a bottom till they safeword, so then I know that they WILL safeword, and I can feel secure with them. I don't always achieve this through pain. One of the toughest pain sluts I know safeworded on me when I was mummifying him and started to wrap his head. I felt so much better beating the crap out of him after that, knowing that he wouldn't let me go too far.
It all comes down to learning to live in the real world, rather than the world of theory, and learning to communicate better
And since that can only happen through experience, there are bound to be frustrations along the way.
