Save the slash speak for when you are chatting online with "YOUR" dom   you are not a submissive to every dom or domme here...they are your equals until you agree to submit to them or they wish to take you as a submissive.  It is inappropriate to use in a forum therefore it is considered rude to everyone else that has to read them

I don't know if you are starting your posts in general discussion and if they are being moved here after by the mods  ..but if so that should give you a clue when filed under "Random Stupidity"

Crickey.

i am attempting to respond in the same order you posted, but it's not easy.

It is none of yr business how i type in IM. It is certainly not yr place to dictate to me how i must type in IM.  You seem to be having boundary issues -- unable to tell what is and is not under yr control.

My use of slashy speech, as well as using a lowercase letter on the start of my nick, is pleasing to me as a submissive.

Not that it's any of yr business, but i treat Doms with courtesy, unless They do s'thing to really offend me.

i do not treat Doms as my superior, or feel i must submit to All of Them.

i never made that mistake, even when i was brand new on CollarMe and inundated with emails from Doms of all stripes.

Yr inability to tell what is -- and is not --yr business is offensive.

i posted this Op in 'Random Stupidity'.

None of my Ops have been moved by a Mod for a long time.

In order for you to support yr position that slashy speech is 'inappropriate' or 'rude' when used on the boards, you must cite a etiquette authority.  Otherwise yr not not stating a fact, yr giving yr opinion - and only yr opinion.

Apart from the guidelines and TOS, no such etiquette authority exists. You are wrong on this point -- just plain wrong.

One reason that the other style issues -- font color and size -- cannot be logically attacked is that the design of the boards affords choices.  Ergo, choices are acceptable.

Not E/everyone is required to use the default settings.

The discussion -- if it can be called that -- of font color and size is not supposed to be included here.  The Op of this thread is acronymns.

There is different  thread -- Pimping Y/yr Posts -- where the subject of post appearance belongs.  This is hijacking, IMO.

IMO, it is particularly violative when the two threads are so closely placed in both time and forum.

How hard would it be to to confine yr opinions on post appearance to the other thread? Are you having a brain fart and confusing the two Ops?

BTW, i did consider slicing up yr post into pieces and quoting them separately so that my responses would follow one at a time, but i've forgotten how that's done.

It's been s'thing of a pain in the azz to  construct this post because you threw in everything but the kitchen sink in yr post.

I said it is rude in the message forums .. reread my post ...I did not dictate  how  you should  type on IM   ...save the slash speak -- IM short forms  for IM  were it is appropriate and designed for  use ...not on the message boards.

Maybe re- read thru your posts you started ...the authority would be the majority of the people that are using the forum who find it annoying and a PITA to have read thru

in 3 sentences ???? Damn I am getting good  ...but no where as good as you ...and who is doing the dictating now and hijacking of their post ?????

Acronyms = not annoying
Slash Speak = annoying in the extreme.  Not only annoying, but in my opinion, identifies those who use slash speak as chat room players, not real time.

Pinksugarysub:  More than the slashy speak, the acronyms, the font, the colors and the overal inundation of posts - scrolling down every othe post and finding what amounts to negative and almost venomous arguments of you pissing against the wind, is becoming annoying.  The majority of readers and posters on CM don't like it, you do it.  So do it anyway already and quit arguing with the masses about it.  This entire topic is becoming beyond tiresome.

S'times i think W/we're getting as bad as kids with their 'text speech'.

I am confused...what does s'times mean?

How hard is it to add the few extra letters in a word?  Yes I agree text speak is annoying, not only when used in phone messages.

Whether slashy type and loud fonts bother people or not, the fact that almost every thread she posts gets hijacked for pages, with people complaining about it, could be contributing to the problem.  Not to mention that it constantly bumps the threads people are supposedly complaining about.

If a topic is a "nothing" topic, for me, I don't bother opening the thread.  If a certain thread bores me, I stop reading it.  If a certain poster consistently annoys, I hide them, to save the time of skimming through it all.  If I'm looking in Polls and Random Stupidity, I won't be surprised if I find an entirely frivolous topic, there.

Alright, so many have let her know that the slashy type and loud fonts aren't popular, here.  But she's let it be known that it gives her some satisfaction to do it that way.  I think she's got the message, and would rather do what she likes, than what they like.

That might have been useful for her to know, might be doing her a favour to let her know, initially.  But carping at her about it for pages and pages and pages...doesn't anyone else get tired of that?

Yikes!

Yep, I agree wholeheartedly.  It is time for people to just let it go already.  So as not to become the harpee of the harpers, (in my best Forrest Gump impersonation) that's all I have to say about that.

Just an observation... If I were looking for a submissive, I certainly would NOT choose one that ignores simple requests, or continues to exhibit behaviors that she know other people find annoying and have commented about.

i ran a search and didn't come up with a single thread discussing the use of acronymns.

Maybe because the correct spelling is "acronym".

By the way, you mentioned later that if options are available, that makes them acceptable.  This is not necessarily so.  For instance, the option exists to post pictures in threads on this site, but it is not acceptable.  I run another message board, and the software we use does not allow us to turn off certain features. Unless you're paying for completely custom software, sometimes you just have to live with certain features that you don't necessarily want available.

i always thought that "yr" was short for "year", and that just doesn't make any sense in the way you are using it.

i personally don't like to decipher postings and just skip over the ones that aren't writen out all the way most of the time.

Me, too, kc.  I just wish I could click on a little icon and zap that sign onto several people I know in the real world.  It would just make life so much easier.
