What's that quote? "If you break your toys, you don't get to play with them any more." Damaged skin is damaged skin; needs to heal. Yes, you can be had up on an article 15 in any of the U.S. armed forces for getting yourself sunburned; it is considered damaging government assets. (There's a reason they call the doll "G.I. Joe"—stands for "government issue", mil-speak from at least WWII onward.) And I got that from a 10-year Navy corpsman. I've had to limit targets and activities on account of dermatological allergy in a sub…neither of us liked it much, but I've had derm allergies go systemic in ME and wasn't about to add to his miseries. Distract him from, yes. He did learn a late-in-life lesson about the helplessness of allergy victims, especially when the allergen is unknown. Now, treating sunburn could be used as a torment…putting lotion on in installments: let's see, spray mist, gloopy gel, chilly lotion, oh, yeah, sort of fire play in reverse. My own vinegar-herbal sunburn remedy, straight (sting!) cider vinegar, aloe vera gel, lavender-calendula lotion… Lady Delilah Deb
