i don't mess around with sunburns period.  skin cancer runs amok in my family, we're all extremely fair skinned and accumulated sun damage eventually catches up with us.  i have to admit i've fantasized about being slightly sunburned and slapped, but it isn't something i'd ever do becuase i'm not willing to get a sunburn to begin with.   anyone i'm in a relationship with knows my history so it's never come up.  i don't even go outside for 10 minutes without putting on sunblock.

I happen to teach about pain and there warning signs and what is contraindicated for massage therapy with a patient.  I am an instructor at a medical vocational school. I teach at a medical vocational school. Following  guidelines of waiting for pain to go away first before  touching a person with sunburn would prevent not only abuse but setting a therapist or doctor up for possible lawsuits and a lay person from charges.

sunburn is tissue damage as Chrissy so thoughtfully demonstated.

A sunburn is a burn. Dont mess with it. Its either a first or second degree burn.

You can cause irreparable damage. That doesnt matter to you? SAFE, SANE and CONSENSUAL, I am suprised you would be so callus as to cause irrepirable damage to your property.

Sounds like MissEnchanted enjoyed a bit of lotion play with a touch of "ouch".

I won't file it under concentration camp atrocities at this point.

I wouldn't mess with a sunburn.  I WOULD have a total party once it healed up and the dead skin started to peel.  I love peeling that stuff off....  I'm a scab picker too, sue me.[8|]

I wanted to apologize to ME. We have been talking through private e-mail. I was hung up on the "to each their own" when speaking about second degree burns. But she really IS on the same page as me as far as knowlege of warning  signs of pain and what to look out for. I know she would never go as far as to cause irrepairible damage to a sub.

I think we've bonded! [;)] Thanks for apologizing and I am really glad this connected the two of us, even though it was a tad bumpy along the rocky road of online communication.

sometimes i think fantasies are almost better when they're in my head...and that is one of my faves.

i burn just by looking at a picture of the sun..

My wife is the same way, so sunburn is one of the things that gets me sympathy... She'll even help it rub the lotion on its skin!  Now a bruise, she'll poke until the cows come home...

i've also had some "sunburn play" fantasies... mostly involving being deliberately sunburned in areas that usually never see the sun, then being forced to wear tight, coarse clothing while doing chores...

Venatrix -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/28/2008 10:59:51 AM)

FR: Anyone so foolish as to go out in the sun unprotected long enough to get burnt deserves every ounce of pain he or she gets.  That having been said, I would punish his stupidity by withdrawing play.

LadyPact -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/28/2008 1:19:52 PM)

Believe it or not, I've not been faced with the opportunity to have a sub with a sunburn.  I can't say whether I'd take 'advantage' of it or not.

However, I am very light skinned and burn rather easily.  I think I'd tend to be more sympathetic.

vampchick88 -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/29/2008 8:26:11 PM)

I slather him with aloe vera, make sure he's got plenty of breathable cotton shirts to wear, and be very, very, very, careful around him!!!! There's no way I could dream of doing anything else. I know how bad those things hurt so he'd be in the very best care.~Lorelei

Vendaval -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/29/2008 11:07:21 PM)

A sunburn falls into the same category as any other illness or injury. Treat the problem and wait until the sub recovers to resume play. I agree with the aloe vera recommendations.

DelilahDeb -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/30/2008 12:05:58 AM)

What's that quote? "If you break your toys, you don't get to play with them any more."

Damaged skin is damaged skin; needs to heal. Yes, you can be had up on an article 15 in any of the U.S. armed forces for getting yourself sunburned; it is considered damaging government assets. (There's a reason they call the doll "G.I. Joe"—stands for "government issue", mil-speak from at least WWII onward.) And I got that from a 10-year Navy corpsman.

I've had to limit targets and activities on account of dermatological allergy in a sub…neither of us liked it much, but I've had derm allergies go systemic in ME and wasn't about to add to his miseries. Distract him from, yes. He did learn a late-in-life lesson about the helplessness of allergy victims, especially when the allergen is unknown.

Now, treating sunburn could be used as a torment…putting lotion on in installments: let's see, spray mist, gloopy gel, chilly lotion, oh, yeah, sort of fire play in reverse. My own vinegar-herbal sunburn remedy, straight (sting!) cider vinegar, aloe vera gel, lavender-calendula lotion…

Lashra -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/30/2008 5:42:01 PM)

I would put aloe on it. Sunburn isn't fun and isn't healthy. My sub would get a lecture about taking care of his skin and the effects of skin cancer. The sadist in me would make him write a report on skin cancer, he hates to write and loves pain.

Madame4a -> RE: When your sub has Sunburn (6/30/2008 6:36:20 PM)

Sunburn is not something I would mess with.  Its a very serious thing in my life as my boi has a disease that too much sun is really debilitating and could be life threatening.  I spend so much time when we're out on the bike making sure she has her sun block clothing on and various levels of sun screen on exposed parts.  There is never a time that goes by that I don't think seriously about changing our outdoor life... *sigh*

If she got sunburned, she'd certainly have one very angry Ma'am on her hands... but I would be slathering her with stuff to take care of her skin and making her rest.  Sun can really be a life threatening thing for some.

Sorry.. I'll get off the soap box... don't get sunburned, period.
