siamsa24 -> What is Vampirism? (11/20/2005 3:26:05 PM)

I hope this is the right forum.

What is vampirism? I have seen it referenced in several profiles, but they don't go into any more detail then that. Do these people actually believe themselves to be vampires?

MrThorns -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/20/2005 3:33:13 PM)

Vampirism includes , but is not limited to:

Dressing up in full or partial vampire style clothing
Biting
Blood play
Blood consumption

I've always seen vampirism as an offshoot of Goth, but I am sure that those that have deeper vampire fetishes and make the fetish a large part of their lifestyle may have something different to say.

I'm not into it myself, but I know people who are and find it a very interesting culture. I won't mangle it by trying to define it completely, but basically they are people who use the history of vampires and use energy transfer/sucking as a form of interaction/world perspective.

There's a lot more to it as a "culture" but that's the main essence. Blood transfers CAN BE part of it, but not as frivolous or mainstream as it is sensationalized.

If you want a book, a great one I've found is "V is for Vampires"

Vampirism and bloodplay

Blood and vampires

Vampirism and succubus

MeryKitsune -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/20/2005 4:07:53 PM)

The short anwser is Yes, some of them believe that they're vampires, and No, some of them do not.

If you look at the vampire subculture, it (Like this one) has several members who are goth. It's not a requirement, though.

There are psychic vampires who take energy, "sanguinarians" who drink blood. Both types claim to be vamipres.

There are others, usually Goth, who dress up and get fangs, but who do not acutally consider themselves vampires.

Some believe in this, some don't. Either way, if it makes 'em happy, I don't care. It's not my bag, though.

Thanks for the link LuckyAlbatross, I read the threads, but I was still confused on if these people actually believed that they were vampires.
I know that there is a blood fetish, but I think that drinking blood, dressing/acting like a vampire and all of those things is different from actually believing that you are a vampire.

She is also a lifetime slave. Vi also wrote To Love, To Obey, To Serve which is finally being reprinted!

darkinshadows -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/21/2005 3:04:28 AM)

I would not consider myself a vampire. But the whole concept/bloodplay etc... I find fascinating. One of my closest friends considers himself a vampire and I have another whom had His teeth altered and follows the more 'fairytale' version.

There is a thought that vampirism is a form of a person with Porphyria which is a collection of complaints that a sufferer may have. These include skin problems, light sensitivity, liver problems, iron deficiency and stomach problems and sickness due to the increase of porphyrins and their lack of. It can be hereditry but not always.

But Porphyria sufferers don't have the need for 'blood', which is the common falicy/fable of vampirism. It's realy the visbale signs that the sufferers have.

Also, not all people who claim to be vampires are into blood play. Some vampires are energy feeders and feed from the 'lifeforce' of others. There are those who are voluntery donators and do not have any presumption that they are vampires, but prefere instead to donate.

Fable overtakes the fact - alot of people just see the 'buffy' vampires etc and think thats exactly what vampires are. Gothic fantasy takes aot of vampire fantasy on but most vampires are just like you and me and just walk around in normal clothes and normal hair. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them, so called 'vanillas' and BDSMers...

I am always willing to learn more and after watching Sci-Fi last night I am very curious about vampirism.

If any of you don't know Sci-Fi did a vampire series last night and as I was watching a bunch of profiles talking about vampirism began coming up whenever I refreshed the profiles page.

There was a Nicolas Cage movie made about 10 to 15 years ago, for most of the movie he was slowing turning into a vampire. At the end of the movie it became obvious that he was not actually becoming a vampire he only thought he was becoming a vampire.

denika -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/23/2005 12:31:28 PM)

Just like Vampire novels, legend and lore each person can have a diffrent view on what it means. Bram Stoker had Dracula walking around in the late afternoon, While Anne Rice's vampires, tho exeptionally erotic were unable to perform the act of sex, feeding was their release. I blame Gene Simmons of KISS for starting my vampire fetish at an young age :) It's the erotisism, the fantasy of never growing old, of confidence, egotism even cruelty, blood play not just with teeth, which can be an incredibly scene on it's own. (Be warned, if you break skin with your teeth the human mouth has some truly nasty bugs, follow-up with antiseptic is a must!) Vampire fetish can range from dressing up in period costumes, acrylic fangs to the basics of black leather and the ability to carry off role-play in a scene. Blood is a very powerful stimulant in that it can illicit so many diffrent emotions. Fear, lust, panic. I was 'goth' many moons ago in High school before it was trendy, we emulate what we are attracted to. That predatory look a Sadist gets when He/She is is figuring out just what They are going to do to you can be a very fun place to start a vampire scene. Or any play for that matter.

pandoravampire -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/24/2005 4:43:47 AM)

I have a fantasy, that is all it is, of vampirism that runs along the lines of a succubus.

But i can drift into this fantasy, and convince myself its working. That i can 'hypnotise'. Of course im doing no such thing, im merely manipulating another subtly. But the buzz i get from playing this out in my head to non censenting adults, is a real high. I can transpose this behaviour in a social setting, say like a vanilla house party.

Could just be the slut in me trying to be posh though lol

I have dark hair, fair skin and own a red velvet dress down to the ground, backless, with a train, in this, i AM a vampire. Only im blood phobic, so i use other stuff thats red, like raspberry juice. Hey, it is 2005!

As for false teeth, or teeth modification, nah, thats too goth, and nowt to do with the succubus side of things at all.

its roleplay, that taps into my top space, bottom space if im a victim, its flirting at its most intense, to me, its a lot of fun[:D]

MHOO314 -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/24/2005 9:03:27 PM)

I have actually had a recent experience where the vampirism was emotional, psychological---My teen was chatting with someone she met in the UK ( they had been good friends for a bit of time)--but I began to feel a darkness descend as the teen began to make up more and more drama--My child being the helper/nurturer got sucked in to the drama pretty bad, she began to change with outbursts and horrible mood swings--when she finally broke it off with the UK teen, My home actually felt lighter and My daughter was back to her old self--in comversations with others, I learned that it isnt just associated with blood but also very much mind/emotional control--of a very dark nature--

darkinshadows -> RE: What is Vampirism? (11/25/2005 1:21:42 AM)

Whilst some vampirism can be 'dark'... some use it for positive means. One psi/emotional vamp I know has a wonderful spiritual centre and uses their gift to drain negative energy from others who have no way to expell the energy themselves. It can bring wonderful results and even if some people see it more of 'just psycological' and all in the head - if it works and works that well, I believe it's postive.

It is sad you had a negative experience MH - like all sections of any following - there will be abusers or people who have had no guidence on how to control their abilities.

Peace and Love
