Hello my darlings,

Well, first let me say that you all saved my sanity while I was living in South Korea. Not only did you offer diversion, laughter, and interesting conversations, but many of you have become good friends, folks to visit, people to look forward to at CM "family" reunions.

I have been offered an amazing opportunity to teach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I have chosen to accept it. *eep!* There are a number of reasons, one of which is the ability to teach communication to a people so different. Truly, teaching is like being an ambassador to what real life Westerners are like.

Here is the rub...... sigh.

There is no ability to interact from a website like this one. It is considered pornographic. And that is deeply against the culture and the law. SO...

I am asking that you all folks have some compassion. *smiles* I would like to maintain contact and what not with the folks here. I could easily join other chat groups, discussion forums and the like as long as they do not in any way connect with pornography, pork, or pints (alcohol). I am on Facebook as folks know, and I will be blogging about my experience. I am asking for any referrals to good websites, discussion groups, etc. that would allow me to continue interacting with you all and get intellectual and emotional stimulation. Plus I will be with women all the time, and I need a little testosterone fix on occasion - no I'm not talking web cam or anything like that. You know... chatting with a fellow, playing games on yahoo, interesting interactions, book clubs, etc.

Also, I'm happy to accept postcards, snail mail, occasional letters, etc. and would return the favor. I have references!

Can you help me? I don't want to get lost in the desert.

Congrats sunshine and I am so happy for you to have this experience! You definitely are an ambassador of communication and that is a very admirable quality, and one which many of us are envious of these opportunities you had and have to travel and work. We have friends in China that send out a monthly flyer by email to keep everyone updated, perhaps you could do the same?

Would you like recieving care packages? Maybe the CM folks could do a rota for those?

I and the other-half both have Facebook pages, so feel free to add us. We also have a MySpace page for pictures, but I am not sure of the address, but I can get it for you.

Why dont you set up a yahoo group, just you and your friends. Keep it clean and that way you have all of us in one place? Invite only, of course

I knew you would nail it.

Like I said the other day, I will miss you terribly and I hope to see you once more before you leave. You have the most amazing free spirit and I just adore you for it. You are an angel and will definitely be one of this country's best exported bundles of joy and love. Only thing... we MUST get you back in a timely manner.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for five years in the early 70's. I was only five at the time when we moved there. I have the most amazing memories.
Make sure you go to the Rub' a Khali at least once. Bring something to bring home the sand. It's a gorgeous red.
