I can share academic research with you on the subject (I can send you links to references on the other side if you like) Ethics can be personal, relational, institutional and societal. They are then broken down into ethics which purposes are made to be normative (create a set of guidelines or laws) and those that are meant to be moralising or human obligations. Normative ethics are: - Personal: I will act in such a way because it is aligned with my ethics. - Relational: I will act in such a way because they people around me will perceive me as an ethical person. - Institutional: I will act in such a way because it is what the institution (workplace, school, church, family, etc) expects of me. Moralising ethics are sometimes institutional depending on the size of the institution. In the case of a large religious organization it would apply. Otherwise, they are: - Societal: I will act in a such a way because it is what society expects of me. - LA
