"A lot of nuts out yesterday drunk and setting off fire crackers. " I remember when twisters came to this area, people were cheering in the streets as if they welcomed the excitement. I guess life is too dull. "My cousins place got hit...but that is the area she picked. " Always look at elevation when buying a property, it's kinda important. However you can only get so high (no pun intended) and in extreme conditions you can be underwater anyway. I don't know if you have a basement but right now I wish I didn't. And I DID look at the lay of the land, the elevation here is not that high but it is near a damnear cliff, the runoff is great. However I have this century old tree in front that has destroyed my drain. Sans a sump pump I was down there with a wet/dry shop vac and took 75 gallons of water out of here. I am moving the machines out of here and selling this place I think. I am definitely moving the machines out because they CANNOT be in such a moist atmosphere. There is probably twenty grand worth of shit down there but try to sell it now. People with money have no desire to use tools. My neighbor had a veritable gusher in his basement up to about six months ago, there was a water main leaking in the street and they fixed it. But that was clean water coming in on him. Yeah, that shade tree is worth it. Actually it is because for all the time I've lived here it would've cost alot more to air condition this place without it. So it's like ten grand now because I won't let anyone fell the tree. That means the main sewer line must be relocated. Even at less than fifty feet, it is expensive. So this will be sump pump city and limited usefulness of the basement until it is fixed. Like I said I think I'll just sell the place, it has certaain good points that will bring in some bucks. With that maybe I can find something more suitable, like somewhere outside the Buckeye Curtain. But the point is that no matter where you go there are problems. I'd just like to trade problems with someone now. T^T
