Fwiw, the Barack Obama page says clearly, "This account is run by #Obama2012 campaign staff. Tweets from the President are signed -bo." There is indeed a tweet from the President, saying, "As painful as this day is and always will be, it leaves us with the lesson that no act of terrorism can ever change what we stand for. -bo" Between that and the President's Pentagon appearance, is anyone seriously arguing that he didn't take this grim day seriously? Or is this just another opportunity to score partisan points at any cost? I realize we live in a time of hyperpartisanship, but dueling 9/11 tweets is a new low, particularly from the perspective of one who knew, as I did, flesh-and-blood people who died that day.
