Israel says Obama initiated the UN resolution.

http://m.jpost.com/#article=6017RTg4NjA5MkM3NUUzRjcwODczMTQ0MEFDOUZFQTk4RDU=

“We have no doubt that the Obama administration initiated it, stood behind it, coordinated the texts and made sure it passed,” he said. “This is, of course, in complete opposition to traditional US policy, which committed itself to not trying to impose permanent agreement conditions, or anything connected to them, in the UN Security Council.”

Nonsense that you invented, Michael. There is no such tradition.

Furthermore, the Resolution at issue is not the first passed against Israel's settlement policy by the Security Council. Obama has been complaining about the settlements for eight years. The settlements are a flagrant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and Security Council Resolution 242.

The RW is all aflutter. Oh my!

Why don't they give the Palestinians reservations like the US gave to the Native Americans?

The Palestians refuse to give peace in return. The Palestinians actually kill any Palestinian that accepts peace in trade for land. And, Isreal has given land from which the Palestinians just shoot rockets into Israel and try and sneak in suicide bombers. I recommend you read "Catch the Jew" by Tuvia Tenenbom if you'd like an idea of how idiotic the lefties, NGO's, Palestianians, and Arab neighbors have gotten.

Ok thanks for the suggestion. I read 'The Girl From Human Street' and the author, a Jew, comments on how badly the Jews terrorize the Palestinians... invading their private homes, etc.

Ya, that's the lefty version. Probably based on about as much truth as unicorns. Read what I suggested and you decide. It's an ebook, easy to get.

Oh, and you might want to consider that Isreal is about the size of California surrounded by huge Arab nations. Why don't the Arabs give land for the Palestinians? Well, a couple of them have, Jordan and Lebenon. The Palestinians cased wars in both places and had to be kicked out militarily. Isreal offered to return the Golan Heights to Syria in exchange for a peace treaty. Syria refused and continues to refuse to this day. The Palestinians don't want their own land, they want the eradication of the Jews only.

You're welcome. And I really mean you decide. If you see that the lefty version is unicorns, then you can also begin to see the BS that people like VML also say as being real. If you pick the unicorns, well kiss on top the head for being informed and making a decision.

The alt left does this sort of thing then when the repercussions hit can't believe it when the right hits them back twice as hard

Its actually a well written, well-received book in the Jewish community, by an established and respected author.

It's not about just any land. It's about Jerusalem. The Muslims feels it is THEIR holy site, and it belongs to them. And they will never stop fighting Israel for the right to own it.

Right, and how has that worked out for the Native Americans? Your proposal is a horrible equivalency. Unfortunately, it is happening de facto. There are more than 120 Israeli settlements housing nearly 400,000 people in the West Bank land designated for the Palestinians. In addition, Israel is building a Wall that cuts through Palestinian villages and she controls roads and check points that surround them. In effect Israel has established Arab ghettos in the West Bank . . . de facto apartheid. To go to work some Palestinians have to go by circuitous routes and dozens of check points. The IDF is prone to invade Palestinian homes at night and roust them out of bed. In addition to humiliation there is a huge economic impact under these conditions, so no one should be surprised at the anger.

I thought Mecca was their holy site.

I thought Mecca was their holy site.

They feel they own Jerusalem too.

Jerusalem in Islam refers to the status of Jerusalem in the Muslim religious tradition. Al-Aqsa is the third holiest site in Sunni Islam after the mosques of al-Haram in Mecca and al-Nabawi in Medina.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_in_Islam

So they got Mecca, and Medina. What they are missing is Jerusalem and they will never stop until they get it! Because they see it as THEIR holy site!

They basically want ALL the Jews to get out of Israel and move else where, then they will be happy. And give them back Jerusalem!

LOL, if they want peace between those two fractions.

Simple. Switch places. Give Jews Palestine. And give Palestinians Israel.

Of course the Jews will not be happy then haha.

End of the day, they are fighting over rights to a holy site.

More from Wikipedia about what Jerusalem means to Islam.

Jerusalem is considered a sacred site in Sunni Islamic tradition, along with Mecca and Medina. Islamic tradition holds that previous prophets were associated with the city, and that the Islamic prophet Muhammad visited the city on a nocturnal journey (Isra and Mi'raj). Due to such significance, it was the first Qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims and the prophet Muhammad designated the Al-Aqsa for pilgrimage.

Born in 570 AD, Muhammad is believed by Muslims to be a messenger for God. He reformed the perspective that God should be worshiped through prayer, reciting God's messages and only worshiping God. Muhammad declared himself to be the last prophet of the Judaic-Christian Religions and he founded a third Abrahamic religion: Islam. The Dome of the Rock is an Islamic sacred shrine in Jerusalem, built on the Temple Mount. This is where Muhammad ascended into heaven and was given the second pillar of Islam, to pray five times a day, from Allah, which is still used today.

Base on these reasons, Jerusalem is like fucking revered by the Muslims. And there will never be a solution for the Palestine and Israel conflict EVER. And ALL Muslims countries will always back Palestine no matter what, as they just want Jerusalem back in Islamic People's hands.

And IF any US President can resolve the conflict. He deserves something better than Nobel Peace Prize! I think someone should rise up to this impossible challenge! This dude or dudette could be World President.

Tell that to the North Carolina legislature.

But... I do think it was wise to abstain on that resolution. Tradition or not I don't think any policy should be acted upon, other than a national emergency, until the President elect takes office. I happen to agree that these settlements are wrong but a national and world US policy should not made by a lame duck President weeks before he is to leave office.
