Status: offline 		LOL... obviously nobody wants to be a refugee and yes, this offers some of the people in Syria a degree of hope that wasn't there before (largely because of the GOP, but okay, Obama could have done what Trump just did and ordered the strike anyways)... but buddy guy seems to think this wasn't just about fighting fair and that Trump is going to come riding to their rescue like some sort of white knight, which simply isn't going to happen.

America stood up to the bullies, sure... but is Trump really going to drag America into yet ANOTHER war, this time against RUSSIA... over people he has stirred up so much hatred and resentment for?

He's dreaming.

Not really the point -- but sure. If I lived in the bombed out wreck of a continuing 6 year civil war, my main objective would be "out" rather than specific destinations too.

Fair enough, but the question did ask where they would like to be able to go. Meanwhile, Gant has published some opinions from Syrians here in the U.S. Most were positive...

But Samira Miteas, a 73-year-old Syrian-American in Atlanta, disagrees. She said she isn’t convinced that Assad was behind the chemical attack. “What is [Assad] going to gain to use the chemical weapons?” she asked, adding that ISIS was the likely culprit. “I am not defending Assad,” she said, “but it doesn’t help him.” Miteas said the US military strikes will only make life worse for people in the country that she left in 1967. As long as ISIS remains in Syria, she said, little will change. “It will be like Iraq,” she said. “It will make more chaos and more casualties.” ~Source

It's nice to see that at least one person noticed the pesky detail that we haven't even a shred of proof that the incident was a chemical weapons attack by Syrian forces.

Status: offline 		The bottom line here is going to be that Syria is Russia's only military base in the Middle East, and they aren't going to let that go.

Russia isn't Iraq. US military might isn't going to launch a few operations and declare "Mission Accomplished."

Whatever turns out to be true (and we may never know), this is only the beginning of a huge mess.

Then add that Iran is a Syrian/Russia ally and strategic partner. Iran isn't Iraq either.
