ORIGINAL: Lordandmaster It's a tough call, because Michigan didn't do much to lose its No. 2 ranking. In fact, Michigan defeated Notre Dame even more soundly than USC last night, and they did it at South Bend. I don't think I'll know how I'd vote until I see what USC does to UCLA next week. If they clobber'em, I suppose I'll be convinced. quote:
Michigan's passing attack and secondary are not as good as USC's. Michigan has better running game and front seven, although USC's front seven is damn good too. Michigan had its chance at OS, so when USC wins out they deserve a crack at the title. I'd also take Pete Carrol over Lloyd Carr in terms of a coaching edge. USC trounced ND about as thoroughly as a team could. I don't see Mich's win over ND as any more decisive. Against MICH, I felt Brady Quinn was off and had a bad game, too. Against USC he played better, but it didn't make enough of a difference. USC has so much talent. We can only hope you pick up girls the way Pete Carrol tabs top recruits.
