perhaps such a contest does exist in some magazine unseen to my virgin eyes, but could it be done on CM? pictures wouldn't have to include the owner's id or location, just their vision of taste. maybe of the year, with catagories for originality, low cost, and so on.

A list of places in the US and Europe with links would be fantastic. Some kind of rating would be good as well.
You have a great idea.
My take is a bit of a different spin, but it would be nice to know where all these locations are. Places to visit when out of town.
I would also like to see a list of retailers in the US and Europe with ratings.
That might exist, but I am not aware of a list as such.
If anyone knows of such lists, please feel free to message me.

Simply Micheal and Sparking Fun Boy, i thought that was a cool site, and agree with Micheal that if the photographer altered their vision just a tad it would be ideal.
Ego, my reasoning was in the interest of privacy. where one case listing might be great advertising for a club, the farmer with the great lair might not want H/his few but closed-minded neighbors knowing what's in H/his basement. ((note to self, do not set up basement in storm-celler that you might have to share with others))but otherwise, right on. wouldn't Y/you love to sit in on the planning of the catagories and related details that would go into planning such an affair?

well although both of our sites are being refurbished at the moment and we only have makeshift sites up.
We make dungeon furniture in metal and leather www.infernalmechanix.com 

and we have a club with two very large dungeons www.clubhades.co.uk

We have more recently been making or perhaps I should say sculpting some very unusual pieces and hope to be launching a show room at the end of this year.

Actually the UK would be a great place to start.
London alone has so many clubs with great dungeons and then of course we have 4 large fetish markets thoughout our small island with an abundance of unusual items that are mostly being made in small cottage industries. Believe me, the English are seriously peverted people! 
The prize is going to very much depend on weather your sub or Dom!!!
