I'm just curious if anyone has seen this site and what they think of it.

http://www.aroundherfinger.com/

It seems like a Femdom version of "Taken in Hand."

From what I've read, it seems pretty decent but I don't think it's kinky enough for me in practice.

First impression, the "around her finger" just reminds of itself being an old idiom for a sterotypical behavior.  Other sterotypical behaviors included dominant men in the past.  (I'm thinking the days of the old black-and-white TV shows, as I'm too young to have experienced those days personally.)

Kind of makes me wonder to what degree classical relationships had D/s mannerisms in them, going either M/f or F/m.

Almost all.  The "relationship of equals" thing is something that got created in the last 30 years, where both partners are expected to have an equal say in every major decision.  I think to a large degree is why the interest in BDSM has grown exponentially since then, as what society tell us we should want and what we actually need tend to be 2 very different things.
The dating game and its unrealistic expectations have destroyed more relationship than I can count, and most of those expectations can be traced back to the "equal relationship" thing.

I think everyone need at least a very tiny bit of D/s, BDSM simply taking that need to the nth degree.

A good start for those not already experienced though don't you think?

I think the basic ideology is sound (like that's a suprise!) and definitely is something to build on. Incorporate from it what you enjoy and like along with the kink. There aren't any set rules.
