The world's top boxer isn't planning to fight a mixed martial artist any time soon, but the IBF welterweight champion says he wants a crack at UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. dogged the UFC and its fighters in the buildup to his blockbuster pay-per-view match with Oscar De La Hoya on Saturday.
His demeaning comments towards mixed martial arts and its fighters so infuriated UFC president Dana White and owner Lorenzo Fertitta that they brought Sherk to the fight with them on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden in order to challenge Mayweather.

Restaurant pulls burgers after injury

Cracker Barrel and a hamburger supplier were investigating after a patron in South Carolina reported cutting her mouth on a piece of metal embedded in a patty, causing the chain to pull burgers from hundreds of restaurants.
The chain has not confirmed what the object was, but it removed from more than 300 restaurants burgers that were produced on or around the same date as those served in the Myrtle Beach restaurant where the woman was cut, said Julie Davis, spokeswoman for the Lebanon, Tenn.-based restaurants.

Arctic seal dies after swimming to Fla.

An Arctic seal found in a Fort Lauderdale canal — far from its habitat near the North Pole — died Tuesday, a day after it was captured.
The bearded seal was thin and dehydrated, though it was not immediately known what killed the animal. Dr. Christopher Dold, a staff veterinarian at SeaWorld, said the park would examine it Tuesday to try to learn more.
However, Dold said it may never be known why the animal came so far south.

Police hold 7 July bomber's widow The wife of 7 July bomber Mohammad Sidique Khan is among four people arrested in connection with the 2005 attacks, which killed 52 people.
Officers arrested Hasina Patel, 29, and two men in West Yorkshire and one man in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Seven addresses are being searched.
