Well, this has been an interesting debate. I still think there are times when the body may not clean itself out as easily as some think. This could be due to an unrelated medical issues. As for baths, i get constant UTIs, so I would never use bathwater to clean my vagina. It would be an invitation to get yet another infection. So, I conclude that douching is NOT recommended on a regular basis but some people may wish to douche on an occasional basis when they feel uncomfortable or embarrassed.

Hmm douching confuses me I admit I dont rightly know exactly what it means so im going to google it lol.
The ony time ive seen anything about it was on a South Park episode when they were arguing over the new school mascot it was to either be a douche or a shit sandwich if I remember correctly !!

Douching is not a safe procedure you do regularly.  It isn't risky persay, but those who do so more than once a week have a significantly increased risk of bacterial infections, P.I.D and cervical cancer.
Regular douching perpetuates infection.

How do YOU know if you need to douche?  Slip your clean, washed finger into your snatch and taste the fluid yourself.  If you're not fresh enough to smell and taste up close and personal, you're not fresh enough to be near the rest of us, either.

Er - no.  Incorrect information - in fact downright dangerous information.  If you are 'not fresh to the taste or smell' douching does nothing but cover up the odour and make you feel fresher..  It doesn't kill the taste and definately and most importantly it doesnt kill bugs and bacteria.  So sure, be sweet smelling, but you are still infecting your partners mouth/penis/toy etc.  What you are neglecting is the fact that there may be an underlying problem which needs medical attention.  If you have excessive fluid, strong smelling secretions or blood spotting when not on your period - don't douche - go and seek medical attention.

This is very well put. Thank you darkinshadows. Nobody should be douching to get rid of unusual or strong-smelling secretions that could signal a serious medical problem. My original post only addressed the idea that a woman might choose to douche after a menstrual period. Many people have no need to douche after their menses as their vagina quickly sheds any leftover blood. Again, I am reinforcing that this post is not intended to suggest that anyone add douching to their arsenal of BDSM play. I was merely curious about whether some people found douching to be a kinky activity. It is my understanding that regular douching is not necessary, but some people may douche occasionally. Some people douche after a very heavy menstrual period, especially if they don't like the smell or they have slight but unpleasant seepage.
