Yes we have two computers and we both work in the same room. I can talk to him via Instat messenger if I want anything and I sometimes do violate the rules. What would the appropriate punishment be?

If that is the case I suggest IM'ing your master and asking him about a punishment.....

IM's ~ Master, I beg to know what you wish for dinner tonight. 1030pm: very angry and upset Master sits down to puter: sees the IM ~ "fuck my rules and protocol" he thinks, "I hate this damn silence too, I cant remember what the hell her voice sounds like, what must I do?" He responds ~ WTF!!

That's just pitiful if you're in the same room and gotta talk via the computer, lol. As time passes it seems that the world becomes more and more impersonal and we just become more insulated from the people around us.....don't get me wrong, if it works for you it works, just seems cold.......

MellowSir, I actually know a couple that do that. Talk to each other via PCs...in a chat room no less. Now, not all the time but enough so that it's somewhat well, I would say odd , but it seems to work for them.

I have to ask. If we all agree that communication is the key in this lifestyle, how can one communicate when not allowed to speak. Or communicate effectively via IM. I don't know about you but I know I've have caused hurt via IM and never had any intention of doing so cause the person reading what I wrote read it completely differently than how I intended it. You lose voice inflection, facial expression not to mention the ability to detect subtle sarcasm. Sorry but I think OPs Master is setting this relationship up for failure by removing effective communication from their relationship. Just my humble opinion.

I disagree. I would give the guy alittle more benefit of the doubt and if something was urgent, she'd be able to talk to him openly and freely about what was going on. I know that when I put a slave on speech restrictions, it's to stop the idle chatter that she seems to just drop out of her mouth and convey that she should consider if what she wants to say is actually that important.
