There would be a sudden decline in the birth rate

The size of families would decline, and the human race would eventually die out

If Men Got Pregnant
Things in the world would really change!

Maternity leave would last for two years with full pay.

There'd be a cure for stretch marks.

Natural childbirth would become obsolete.

Morning sickness would rank as the nation's number one health problem.

All methods of birth control would be improved to 100 percent effectiveness.

Children would be kept in the hospital until they were toilet trained.

Men would be eager to talk about commitment.

They wouldn't think twins were quite so cute.

Fathers would demand that their sons be home from dates by 10:00pm.

Men could use their briefcases as diaper bags.

They'd have to stop saying, "I'm afraid I'll drop him".

Paternity suits would be a line of clothes.

They'd stay in bed for the entire nine months.

Menus at most restaurants would list ice cream and pickles as an entree.

Women would rule the world!

{rofl} I LOVE that. Thank you for the giggles MstrssPassion

The population would have ended a long time ago; then again, medical technology would be so advanced that thigns would be like in the Matrix or guys would have figured out how to get women to carry childnre and realize that we can are a lot tougher than they thought.

hahahaa, i love this! i used to joke that it would be my life's goal to creat male pregnancy...and then i realized that it would totally suck to give up the right to bare children, since they ALREADY have all of that good stuff that having a penis gives them. ah well, i figure i can handle my periods better, knowing that they mean i get to create a baby.

can you imagine the shit storm guys would create if they had to go through the pain of a period every month? HAHAH, it would be like a national holiday for every man, where they would take a week off from work every month.

Stretch marks?

For some reason I'm picturing pushing a bowling ball through a coffee stirrer and "stretch marks" is a little less than what's coming to mind.

Actually, I suspect that if men were the ones that were designed to be pregnant that we would not carry babies a full nine months. The babies birth would occur within weeks of conception and then it would probably crawl into a pouch similar to what happens to a Kangaroo. For a man could not handle the stretching of his member to that size. However, a secondary tube allowing a smaller size of about a Joey, might be possible.

Humans would be more Marsupial in nature.

And a Man would probably carry the child in his pouch until the child was not just the normal 9 months gestation, but an additional year or so along. This would probably be a total of about 20 to 21 months of actual age since birth, but the equivalent of a year now.

I would guess that women would tend to be a lot more promiscuous, and men having perfected 100% birth control would be very happy indeed.

Until we all got old and died out, 'cause there's no way on Earth that once one man had given birth, any of the others would want to. It amazes me that some women go back for the same several times LOL!

I think we would be marsupials, as Robert suggested, or go back to laying eggs.

Heh.

Well, I guess a kangaroo pouch is a little better than an exploded member ... and would such a thing suddenly make "pot bellies" more appealing to the fairer of the species, suggesting that we were prospectively succesful mates?  lol

How often I have asked myself that question! Of course this is hypothetical and silly but...

Well, for one thing, I reckon pharmaceutical companies and medical researchers would have discovered a safe and reliable way of contraception.

After all, men wouldn't ever allow themselves to get pregnant if it didn't suit their immediate goals.

Secondly, I think there would be extended paternity leave, many tax cut benefits for fathers, and that their employers (pregnant men) would make it easy for them to return to work after a baby.

Finally I am convinced that despite all this, should a divorce occur, that the courts would give custody of the children to the mother in a huge majority!

When I saw this thread, first thing that came to mind was the movie with Arnold and the guy from Taxi. Busted out laughing.

Doesn't anyone remember the movie 'Junior' with Arnold Schwatzanager (sp?).  It would be kinda like that, lol.

I would not give up childbirth or pregnancy, I loved it, it was such a bonding experience with my son. As for streatchmarks, they are all marks of honour.

I realize that this was brought up in humor, but I'm hoping that people are open minded enough to realize that this scientific anomoly is not that far away.  Women have for years become pregnant outside the uterus.  Unfortunately it usually occurs in the fallopian tube and besides not being large enough, the ultimate rupture could kill the mom.  There have been instances of extra-uterine pregnancies that have been allowed to continue.  I have somewhere at the back of my brain information on a live cesearean birth but can't give you more details.

So men - watch out. see all those little embryos crying out for a home? Implanted on a loop of intestine would work just fine.

I agree with alot that has already been said. On this note however i will say that this is a semi fetish of mine and i have read and written SEVERAL Mpreg (male pregnancy for the slow ppl) stories. All mostly invovle gay couples and or male surrogates.

Fandoms use din such stories but not limited to
Lord of the Rings - Legolas and the rest of the male elves being the maine ones to be pregnant, the occasional hobbit and even gandalf
X-men(comic and cartoon universe not the movie) hello they are mutants why not. Mmost I have Found have been Logan or Gabmit as the 'mother'
Boy Bands - Backstreet boys and Nsync.
Sentinel
Highlander
Xena/Hercules - Ares, Joxer (these two usually paired together) Cupid, Strife Posiden
Angel/Buffy - Angel, Spike, Xander Have yet to see Wesley, Giles or Gunn fics
Harry Potter - Any and all male chracters Ever woner just why there are so many Wesely's???
And many more i am sure but these are the ones i read.

strange i know but all of these are well written, by women of course and it makes it seem so less freaky and more interestign and beautiful

Aslo there was one Hercules story were the infant came from the same place it was implanted. Talk about ass streching.
