I see Thunder in the Mountain is scheduled for July 20-22, In Denver. Have many members of CM ever attended this event? Any idea how many people it attracts. The hotel reserved has 450 rooms, most of them for those in the lifestyle.  Are any of the Dominas here planning to go?

I'll get there one of these days...everything I've ever heard about it says it's a great event.

I so want to go to Thunder not only because I hear it is a great event but also because I have never seen mountains and that is high on my list on things I want to do. We were going to go but now work schedules will not allow it :( . Maybe next year.

It's been about 6 or 7 years since I last attended so I can't advise what it's like now.
Out of the many events I've attended in Chicago, Dallas (3 times), Charlotte, Washington (3 times), the Denver event was one of the best :)
LOL Still have my t-shirt ;)

If they do things as years before, the whole hotel is reserved for the event and only lifestylers and staff will be there.  No vanilla, unless they are employed at the hotel in other words.  I didn't get to go last year.  But if you are up to helping out, they do offer discounts to the volunteers.  Just go to the website and there should be contact info and go from there if interested.

i went last year and it was amazing. i don't know if the whole hotel was reserved for us kinksters but we took up most if not all of it. The classes were varied enough to cover from newbie to the hardest core folks.
They had three seperate dungeons with all kinds of things going on

Ya know...I'll tell you something right now....anyone that can schedule that kind of weather 11 weeks in advance has my fucking vote!

On top of that...I'd be very fucking careful if I was you.  With all this global warming stuff going on...I'd keep that shit to myself if I was you...or I'd get a good answering service.

(I'm not gonna turn you in...but you better fucking watch yourself....that's all I'm saying).

i went last year, but i was under age so i could only sit in the lobby of the hotel while my Mas'a and sister slaves wandered about. but being in the lobby was entertaining enough! Last year they had three dungeons that i heard were amazing.  i can't wait to be able to attend this year, i get to work the seminars to pay for the door.

i think anyone who gets to go will thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Hello,

I've been to Thunder a number of times, including the last three.  It is one of my absolute favorite events in the country.  It usually is about 700 people and the hotel is reserved for attendees only.  The classes are awesome and this last year they set up one dungeon space in the parking garage, which gave it a grittiness that I personally found very hot.

If you can only attend one event this year, make it Thunder!

Take care,

Peggy

Never been (it's on my to-do list) but I hear it's amazing. From what I hear it's an event that attracts a lot of hardcore and edgeplay people. They say it's got stuff for beginners too, but if you are a beginner I would recommend sticking with more local and smaller events. Afterall, why attend something with such a reputation if you're not going to be up for enjoying it to the fullest?

One of these days, Its on my to do list.  Having just moved in Jan, a vacation around now is not going to happen. I had a former pet who swore by it, and I believe he goes every year. AS for Angel, I dont think its his kind of thing, but one never knows.

I've been there twice, but several years ago. If the buzz is correct from my friends in the Denver area, the magic of that event is still strong. The two years I atteneded, several major educators of the BDSM community (gay and straight) were in attendance. There was one seminar on combining spirituality and BDSM that people STILL talk about to this day. I wasn't able to get in to that one, but was there to greet friends as they came out of it so we could eat together. Everyone coming out of that room had expressions on their faces that told me that they had "been to the mountain." Honest to God, walking into that room immediately afterward, even though it was empty, you could still feel the charge. Things like this happen all the time at Thunder. Some strange mix of people, the Colorado enviroment, and the general attitude of the people who manage the event all conspire to create an event much greater than the sum of it's parts. Go.

I have had a wonderful time the last two years that I have gone.  <smile.
