French workers biggest whiners, Irish happiest: study Mon May 14, 10:31 AM ET French workers are the world's biggest whiners, according to a study published Monday which said the Irish complain least about their lot. Britons come second to their Gallic cousins in the moaning stakes, followed by Sweden, the United States and Australia. Japanese workers have the lowest morale, but don't complain so much. The lowest levels of whining were found in the Netherlands, Thailand and Ireland, according to the study by the FDS research group. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070514/lf_afp/lifestylefranceireland_070514143148;_ylt=AopfJTduMbMdNjVfoUcgnvgE1vAI China says hopes economic woes with U.S. can be solved Tue May 15, 4:04 AM ET Friction between China and the United States is unavoidable amid rapidly growing economic ties, a Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday, but added Beijing hopes tensions can be resolved through dialogue. Arguments in the potentially groundbreaking case wrapped up in about three hours Monday, but it likely will be months before justices rule on the lawsuit that eight same-sex couples originally filed in August 2004. The couples, who have been together between 13 and 31 years, allege their equal protection and due process were violated when they were denied marriage licenses in Madison Town Hall. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070515/ap_on_re_us/gay_marriage;_ylt=AjMNLNXdeKVZPT6zDIqrlYpvzwcF Extremist taunts his victims from prison By JAY REEVES, Associated Press WriterMon May 14, 11:28 PM ET Victims of Eric Rudolph, the anti-abortion extremist who pulled off a series of bombings across the South, say he is taunting them from deep within the nation's most secure federal prison, and authorities say there is little they can do to stop him.
