ok- the pundits claim no one will show up due to nothing of interest on the ballot. Ild bet they are wrong.   For the past 20 we been trying to get tax reform right.

Im not sure if  am allowed to vote since I did not affiliate with a party.

anyhow- the tax reform is this.  higher sales tax/income tax  or higher property tax.

referendums are rare in PA.

current sales tax is 6 or 7 % food and clothes no tax.

anyhow- now that i bought a home- I will be voting for the higher sales tax.

and i bet the pundits are wrong.  PA has more elderly per capita then any other state except Florida....

can you vote early and often like we do in Chicago?

Dauric -> RE: Election day in Pennsylvania (5/15/2007 9:46:24 AM)

Get to know a Medium that will keep you informed of politics after you're dead, those graveyard votes in Chicago are such a hassle.

Joking aside, you don't need to be a party member to be able to vote, you just need to be registered to vote. (The registration process will inlude a party affiliaton, but "None" is always a valid opton.)

$0.02,

Dauric.

I think it's only a problem in primaries, you have to affiliate to vote in those.  As far as I know, anyway.

Do they use the crooked electronic voting machines, or do you use paper?

pahunkboy -> RE: Election day in Pennsylvania (5/15/2007 1:33:35 PM)

I went and voted for the School Board/Library Board/School Budget...

A LEVER MACHINE! I was so happy. A machine, that if tampered with, leave physical evidence behind!!!!

tax refrorm failed in PA. in my county by 9 votes....

20 years of "tax reform" here in PA

we begrudgingling are even letting casinos in over the murky mil assessment.

hmmm; a good time to point out PA lawmakers are the highest paid in the country.
