Reading some of the other threads about sub drop, I was struck with a different question (and didn't want to hijack anyone else's thread). How long does it take before you start to experience sub drop? Is it as soon as the scene is over or is it later? I ask becuase I personally don't tend to drop until 36-72 hours after a scene (so I won't drop from a scene on Saturday night until sometime Tuesday). I find that it's espeically hard dropping so long afterwards becuase sometimes you're not arond who ever you played with. I'd be interested in hearing other's coping skills that don't involve other people. Thanks in advance!

I'm the same way. If I play Saturday night, I will drop on Monday or Tuesday.

The relatively small number of submissives I have played with seem to drop 2 sleeps (48+ hours) after playing. This is simply something I have observed, and my sampling size is small, but I hope it helps. Sinergy p.s. My drop is based on adrenalin, not endorphins, and it is the next day.

I usualy drop after sleeping... whenever the next time after the scene is that I sleep weather it be a nap or sleeping for the night if I dont sleep till 2 days later I wont drop till I wake up if I sleep 10 minuts after a scene for only a half hour I still drop when I wake up it doesnt matter how long it is after the scene or how long I sleep if Im gunna drop it is going to be when I wake up that first time after the scene.. Usually the next day, but I can push it off for about a week before I crash.

I timed a play session very badly once and had to go straight out and pick my unmentionable up from the school playground... it felt like I was in a different world and that I was on the outside looking in, it affected me really badly and I crashed as soon as I got home - I dont think I could have lasted another 5 mins outside and it took me ages to get back on a level footing. Never again will I put myself through that

Another thought.... I know the drop will come eventually (I almost always drop...), but knowing about it doesn't seem to make it any better....

I'm all over the board...anywhere from 1 hr to 24...but it does make it worse when the other person isn't around.

It completely depends on how impacting the scene is. Sometimes subdrop, what I call cuddletime, is not needed. Other times I grant it minutes after completion. The first time I spanked My Pet to teach her to thank me for my teachings there was immediate subdown time.

Wow, lots of people are similar to me. There was a time that I could set a clock by my drop. Twenty-four hours, and then whammo. If I play again before I drop, it pushes it further off. I recently played, after not having played in a while...and it was 72 hours before it happened. I thought I had ESCAPED for once..lol! Maybe I had built up a big reserve of endorphins and it took longer for them to clear? If something bad happens though...some drama or trauma...it generally speeds up the drop for me.

I think subdrop timing is based on a lot of things. The sub, how indepth the scene was, how much time the Dom spent after the scnene providing care... Subdrop will happen from 24-72 hours later depending on these things.

i must be in the minority i ALWAYS get aftrer care after a scene and my subdrop is not that bad, but that could also be because i see Master every day and he catches me when i start to crash hmmm that could be. Matt's littleone

Matt's littleone Well she didn't ask how often you drop. For me, it's fairly rare. But it does happen. As well, if you know you are going to drop you CAN prepare yourself both mentally and physically to help lessen the symptoms.

Matt's littleone I doubt that's the reason. It has more to with how your body reacts to biological chemicals released during play. Master does fantastic aftercare. I'm married to Master. And frequently he's prepared for the drop before I am. So, if that was case, my drop would be mild too, but it's not.

(Fast reply) Though my experiance is limited, I have never dropped, to my knowledge... I always felt amazing after a "scene", and days after just the same as normal. So either I'm normally a terribly depressed and unhappy person, or I've really never experianced it.

Next day usually. However I have learned to avoid it by not playing when tired, dehydrated or unfed and I always need a nap afterwards. If I don't get the nap I can't be trusted to drive a car. But by paying attention to precare I don't need much aftercare.
