You should check out some of the comic art forums.  lol i am sure they would have an idea of why this happened.  If You need some links, let me know lol.

not in the least.  i know tons of adult males who are huge comic fans.  The majority of them are comic artists.  They have huge comic art conventions.

It originally was tied to the most recent gallup poll which is carrying on nicely elsewhere....lol.

I imagine he'll be back; hell, if floating around in a block of ice didn't finish him off, what are a few bullets?

Or maybe it's a Skrull......

Hi minnetar. Yes, I am, I've always loved them.

And is that "i just look at them for their art" like how I just buy Playboy for the articles? [:D]

Seriously, some of the comics have great stories along with the art; the much missed Sandman, Garth Ennis on Hellblazer, anything by Alan Moore or Frank Miller.... Hate by Peter Bagge, Dave Sim's Cerebus....

I haven't read one in a few years, but that's due to putting my money into other things more than a lack of interest.

Some nice work:

I believe it. One thing that has always impressed me is the intelligence of those in the field. If you can ever lay hands on a video called "The Masters of Comic Book Art", do so; it is the best remedy for anyone thinking that a person in the field of comics has to be a dork.

I've always wanted to attend the Con in San Diego, too...... just take it in, you know?

Level,
lmao i have been to the con twice in San Diego.  i have a ton of friends who have tables there and they have a sketch session at one of the hotels.  i have been fortunate to get some pro drawings for free.  i actually have a room reserved and my flight for this summer.  Not sure i am going though.  You should go.  It is a blast.  i can give you a link to a forum where you can meet some great people.  i have tons of art i have purchased and some comics that i bought from friends who are artists.  lol one of my hidden passions.

Nobody stays dead in the comics, at least nobody important.

SirKenin -> RE: who would kill this guy? (5/16/2007 10:25:29 PM)

A little more than 20 years ago I used to collect Captain America comic books.  He was my favorite.  I am surprised they were still selling them.  I had some of the first books from that series, as well as the first 12 Silver Surfer and Punisher comics.  I understand those stupid things are worth a mint now. I can think of quite a few posters here who would gladly do the job.

But then again, it was only a matter of time. Many dont like the idea of a guy wandering the streets wearing his underwear on the outside.

'Tis indeed a tragedy and I fear for Truth Justice and the American way.!

I was always suspicious of Batman another privileged wealthy type probably on speaking terms with Harry Windsor who is NOT going to Iraq.
As for Superman he was a drip who went all moonie over that jumped up female wannabe reportor Lois Lane. Right little tart she is !

I put my trust in Billy Batson aka Captain Marvel. A quit unassuming type who definately made the world a better place, and never got the credit he deserved.

Billy has just emailed me to say that it was Dick Cheney accidently shot the Captain.
