So there I was scouring all the forum's pages when I suddenly noticed that I hadn't come across any kind of thread for those either new to the forum, or like myself new to the lifestyle as well.

Yes, I am a new Mistress. Not brand new I hasten to point out, but I'm still learning all the terminology, as well as where I am in my own head (I could explain that, but I'd probably just confuse you).

I do have a Sub. She lives with me, and just last night I Collared her. It was an absolutely wonderful event. You see, I personally see a Collar as being something akin to a wedding ring. So, for all intents and purposes (and most importantly, in our own minds and hearts) we got "married" last night. As we follow a lot of Wiccan traditions, we said a Wiccan prayer, then vows to each other. I then performed a Wiccan Blessing, before putting the Collar on her. The whole thing was... I can't find a word to accurately describe the beauty of it.

As being Collared is obviously a huge event in any Sub's existence, I allowed Kittie the privilege of arranging the room, and setting out our most important and powerful crystals.

And then I saw the outfit... She was stunning. I love my Sub, my Kittie so very much.

So, before y'all think I'm a gooey girl not dominant enough to be a Mistress (Oh boy, you'll soon find out different, as you get to know me!), I'll shoot off.

So from me, TTFN.

With respect,

Mistress Stephanie of Larimar
xxxxxx

P.S. ~ thanks in advance to all those who reply and offer their comments.

P.P.S. ~ Feel free to use this thread to introduce yourself if you are another "new" Mistress etc. It is called 'A Thread To Say Hi' after all :-P

Welcome to collarme and the forums, I hope your stay here is wonderful!

And just for future reference, there is a forum to introduce yourself, it's called "Introduce yourself"... lmao, sorry, not being a smartass, I just realized that's what it's called.

Nice to meet you Stephanie of Larimar

Jewel

Hiya Jewel (gorgeous name, btw),

Thank you for the kind welcome. From what I've seen on the threads, y'all seem like lovely women. It's gonna be great to chat to y'all and get a greater insight etc.

Of course, I do feel like a complete wazzock for not noticing the 'Introduce Yourself' thread. I think perhaps I had a blonde moment.

Love and hugs,
TTFN,

Mistress Stephanie of Larimar

P.S. ~ Other Dommes are more than welcome to call me Steph if they so wish.

Umm not to nitpick but what about switches, bottoms, slaves, vanillas, tops and male dominants?

A Slave wants to nitpick me?! Brave girl!!

To answer the question... All of the above (save for Doms) may call me Mistress Stephanie.

Due to events in my past, I have developed an innate mistrust of men (until such time as one can prove himself to be trustworthy!). And thus a Dom must earn the privilege to call me Steph. Until then, I would prefer to be addressed by him as 'Stephanie of Larimar', or at the very least 'Miss Stephanie'.

Unfair to some, perhaps, but if you'd been through what I went through, you wouldn't trust 'em either. But like I said, if I am treated with enough respect, and I find the man in question to be trustworthy etc. then I will tell him from whence he may call me Steph.

I don't think it's too much to ask, but please feel free to tell me if I'm being a bitch (I did warn you that I'm not completely soppy!).

Love and hugs,
TTFN,

Mistress Stephanie of Larimar

Not being a bitch at all, just sexist and classist.

To me that's like saying you were really burned by an asian man and thus all asian men must now work for a certain level of respect from you, and somehow all female dominants are innately above the level of all asian men.

But, it's your choice, we have the privilege of choosing our own biases and prejudices in life for ourselves.

And trust me, it's not brave for me to ask anyone a question except the Owner when he's in a touchy mood. I don't treat anyone differently based on their orientation, color, sexual preferences or kinks, nor do I expect to be treated differently.

Now don't jump all over EmeraldSlave, she does have a point. She also says that it is your choice (which it is).

I have, and most likely then some and I do trust men. I know that's just me and I am not trying to attack you here, but don't generalize and say that everyone that has been raped would develop a sense of distrust for the sex that raped them is rather unfair. It has to do with the person and how they deal with the event, not the event itself (I hope that makes sense, I was up all night packing and my brain is a little fuzzy)

Please allow me to apologise.

It's just that the subject makes me tetchy. I didn't mean to snap. And I appreciate that everyone deals with things in their own way.

I really didn't mean to offend, annoy, or attack anyone.

Hope we can still get on?

Love and hugs,

I wasn't trying to attack or anything, of course we can get along (just don't get to upset if I don't call you Mistress Stephanie, nothing personal, just not the way I do things, chances are I won't refer to you by name)

I get rather worked up about the topic too (as do many here), but I have learned that everyone has their own way of working through things and that's just the way things are.

New decision...

Y'all can call me Steph. I can't let the past run my present (if that makes sense). In the forums (as I'm unlikely to speak to you outside this medium, lol), just call me Steph. I'll always put my full signature though. Bit of mild OCD there

Love and hugs,
TTFN,

Mistress Stephanie of Larimar

I don’t think the fact that you were a victim of rape will make Emerald or any other woman here, or man for that matter, happy.

And for the record, no it doesn’t help me understand your problem with trusting men.

That was one man, not all of man kind.

Most of the women I know have been abused in one form or another by men. It sucks. I know from personal experience. But we learn to deal and we move on. We learn to find men we can trust and integrate them into our lives as friends and/or lovers.

I was abused by a woman in a relationship when I was 20. She slapped me around in a non-consensual way. Once and only once of course. Should I now revert to not trusting anyone?

Nietzsche wisely said "Whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger".

As for getting male Doms to call you Mistress Stephanie, good luck with that ;) You’ll probably get a whole lot more respect from everyone in general if you let them call you what they are comfortable with, respectfully of course. Most male Doms I know call me Mademoiselle, which is what I prefer, but I have earned their respect.

As harsh as my post comes across, my goal is simply to hand you a little reality check for what it's worth. I do wish to extend a welcome to you. I'm sure your fire and strong opinions will add some spice to the boards.

All fair comments...

I do believe my last post was in fact an apology though, and says that everyone can call me Steph, regarldess of status.

So here's me making another apology, mostly to EmeraldSlave1, for snapping.

THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK AT STEPHOFLARIMAR! IT"S A QUESTION/SET OF THOUGHTS

Ok, that said.

I don't think on a board like this it's fesable to ask a class of someone's to call you by a title. My reasoning? Many of us here are in relationships. Many of us here have rules we follow in that relationship. I know my partner would be very irritated with me if he saw me addressing someone as "mistress" even in passing. It's just how he is.

Quesiton-
Do others think it fesable to tell a class of people to use a title for themselves?

I think it's preposterous actually. Self-imposed titles of grandeur are perhaps one of the most tackiest things around.

Welcome to the boards Steph. We are all learning in one way or another. There has been a great deal of information exchanged in some of these threads.
