Nice post, mistoferin.

If what you are saying is the case, then I apologize for not understanding the poster was posting a list of questions people ask as to why they are unable to find a connection on the internet.

I suppose my advice to people looking for love on the internet is to log off, join a club, go shopping, become involved with real people.  The faceless anonymity of the internet allows people to make up a name and create the online persona they always wished they could be in life.  The person you fall in love with after months of chatting may or may not be the person you end up in a relationship with.  The simplicity by which people meet people on the internet belies the likelihood that one will be successful establishing a relationship.

Sinergy, I agree with the rest of what you said, but got to thinking:  is it all bad that "the faceless anonymity of the internet allows people to make up a name and create the online persona they always wished they could be in life."  ?

I suppose it could be unpleasant if they were really really different in life, and if you met up and were therefore disappointed with the disparity.  But I wonder -- other than the obvious, like guys posing as women, etc. -- if the persona that people take up on-line is really so different from what they are in real life ?  Maybe a little further in one direction, maybe a little idealized (thinner, younger, braver, better looking, etc.) but totally different ?  I don't think so, but then my experience is not so wide and varied.

What do you and other people here think, when you really consider this ?

I dont think in terms of bad or good, for the most part.

An online relationship is what it is, based in what it is based in.

I dont think it is reasonable to expect the person in real life to necessarily be who they are online.

p.s.  Although, I met a bunch of people from that internet game I used to play in Chicago, and they all reported back that I am a lot more goofy in person than I am online.  Which is actually saying a lot.

Oh poor old me......... nobody like me

Look I am going to be perfectly honest because you have asked for opinions.
You say your 38 but your picture makes you look much older. Perhaps its just not a complimentary picture and you need to change it to one that makes you look more like a 38 year old.

Sorry I hope you don’t find this offensive but I don’t beat around the bush. If someone wants my honest opinion I will give it.

Hey, hey, hey!   And exactly what does a 38 yr old look like?  Now I'm wondering if I should change My pic.  <laughs>
