Grrr I seldom go in chat and if I do its just to chat. I think Im a reasonably sensible and friendly sort of person and Im happy to join in a conversation if its interesting but recently I have had two stings which have put me off chat rooms completely.

One was a general conversation about looking at peoples profiles. I happened to disagree about something another Mistress said. She was ok about it at first but then every time I said anything she made a sarcastic remark. Eventually I pulled her up on it and asked her why and she said ‘Just remember who you are talking to. Know your place’!!! the next thing ‘ping’ Im banned from the room.

Today I went in another room and tried a few times to get a conversation going. I mentioned light heartedly that this subs name sounded feminine (he was a man) because it had an ‘a’ at the end of it and that my name sounded masculine because my name had an ‘o’ at the end of it. The next thing ‘ping’ Im banned from the room!

Im not doing very well am I? perhaps I should just stick to forums?
Do many people here go into chat and if so how do you find it?

Hey Copulo,

I've seen you in the chats, I think once. That's how it is over there. Some OPs are a little power-trippy, frankly...or so it seems to me. They have free reign to make up whatever rules they like and to enforce them as liberally or as stringently as they like. There is seldom any rhyme or reason...I've been kicked a couple of times and gone back and whatever. The biggest difference seems to be that here, disagreements are tolerated more. Which is why the conversations there tend to be very stale and watered-down, again, in my opinion. Now, I'm not saying that there are not some insipid threads over here...there are plenty. But for the most part, people feel free to disagree and voice their opinions and as long as one doesn't use language that is against CM TOS, the posts stay posted.

Anyway, I think my point is, you're not alone in that, it's not you, so don't take it personally...and understand that the chats can be fun at times, but don't put a lot of stock in `em.

I wont take it personally thought its momentarily irked me that someone could be so flippant with the ‘ping button’!
PR skills would not go amiss but then this is not about earning a living from building a business, its about power.
Saying that I have met some lovely moderators but they tend to be the room owners and the ones that have previously dedicated many hours into building up a successful room only to have it spoilt by allowing cyber friends to moderate whilst they are away from the keyboard.

I really enjoy the forums on here. I feel like I am getting to know a few people, a few I already know in rl and I hope in the future that I will get to meet a load more of you.

Im always happy to turn my back on fools and idiots and just embrace the nicer ones among you.

It's funny, if you go into a CM chatroom and speak casually or realistically it does seem to offend the masses, even when done in the most non offensive way.
I happened to observe a trio of folks, one was a girls "dominant" the others were her two very close "friends" the girl in question had apparently threatened to end it all....and had either closed...or not accessed her CM account in days. None of the three, including her "dominant" had information to contact her with any other medium than the internet.
When i expressed surprise that they were discussing it in a public chatroom instead of doing something about it. (they were all wringing their little cyber hands)
I was shown the cyber door quite abruptly. I was in no way being rude, was even giving suggestions on how they might track her down, but they were really more interested in gossiping about their friend in open chat. Still gives me a chuckle when i think of it.

I owned and ran a room for nearly three years, in that time I banned only 4 users. When I first found CM I hit the chat rooms & found pretty much what you described. I made some friends there & I cross posted (using chat rooms n forum) for awhile but it just wasn't worth the hassle of dancing to an arbitrary tune.
I've pondered opening a room here but I probably won't.
Egads I cannot type today, backspace city!
