The male to female ratio on this site is horrendous.

I am wondering if its time to add a membership fee for men?

In my opinion depending on the cost, you would cut a huge majority of the slime out of here and begin to level the field   Here is the Poll Question:  SHOULD MEN HAVE TO PAY TO USE THIS SITE ?
(wish you could track results based on gender)

All they'll do is set up even more fake female profiles if you charge them.

Greetings

i'm female and voted no. It's ridiculous and discriminatory. i don't feel there should be any charge for anyone to use this site and if it ever came to that, i'd leave the site and seek out another site that does not charge. There are plenty of ways a girl can tell if a Man is a fake, and in my experience, more fakes will pay the fee than real Men, anyway, so it wouldn't level the playing field, only make it that much more difficult for us girls.

i wish You well.

The problem is people who want to be here will pay.  Even if they are slime and trying to get someone to Use and Abuse in an inaprpriate way.  Look at sites like Adult Friend Finder, or Bondage.com.  They both have the same problem.

There is no point in charging one sex, and not the other.

It may indeed balance the "playing field" between genuine male and fake female accounts if a charge is brought forth.  I do not see a valid connection between "slime" and charging for the site, unless one is assuming "slime" have no money. As mentioned above, check out other "pay" sites, they are certainly not void of slime to any degree. Besides, other than being an annoyance...slime is quite easy to wade thru and very often transparent, and even evaporates after awhile.
However, I do see how charging female accounts would bring about a decrease in fake and scam accounts. But again, it would do more harm than good towards those who are actually genuine...on both sides of the gender fence.

I won't be surprised if this thread gets pulled or moved... until then here's my 2 bit on the topic.

I don't think they should charge for memberships nor posting to the forums.  I do think having to buy credits to send email at say about $0.10 per credit would help a lot.  Some how I think the "dom-wannabe-looking-for-easy-sex-trolls" are going to be slowed down a tad when their 500 email a day spam habit starts costing them $50 a day to keep up.  And it just might slow down those 200 email a day deluges some of the women on here get, while upping the odds those few genuine inquires actually get seen and read.

Personally, I would say no. If they ever decide to make this a paying site, they can not limit it only to one gender; it must be across the board.

What's wrong you can't deal with competing with other men (including slime balls) for a woman on this site?

That's what Alt did at first ... they started out only charging males - females could still view profiles and e-mail other members without paying.  And the site still sucked horribly (and only got worse).

You wouldn't just cut the slime factor. Some of us don't gots no money for this stuff. Some of us likes guys, for that matter. Some of us are also kind of offended by double-standards. Personally, I not only have no money for this stuff, I am EXTREMELY offended by double-standards, especially where gender bias is concerned. I would less that respectfully suggest that the original poster should do something anatomically unpleasant with themselves, rather than tell ME that I have to pay because THEY think there's too many guys.

Hell - what makes the OP think this will cut down on the slime factor? The only guys left on the site will have a sense of entitlement because they HAVE to pay. Ever think of that, you [expletive deleted]? Of course not.

WTF ever happened to common sense and basic decency? Never mind the legal woes that could befall the site for inequal admission standards. You know, there's a guy in Florida right now making money on small claims lawsuits against bars that offer Ladie's Night specials, claiming that it's gender discrimination. He's making money because he's right. A bar can afford to lose five hundred bucks per disaffected crackpot, CM can't.

I swear to god, every time I think I can just come here, relax, read a few posts, offer a little advice where I think I can help, and banter back and forth with some folks I think of as friends, some [expletive deleted] has to remind me of the overwhelming vastness of stupidity that exists in this world. Seriously, all I ask of the universe is one safe haven.

Oh,well. I guess that's what the little red hand of blockage is for.

Unfortunately that wouldn't work.  I used to be on alt and bondage and they turned into pay sites, and for some reason it just seemed to get worse, I'm not sure why.   It seemed like once people had to pay then they "really" felt like they were entitled to be jerks.

I doubt that was the reason, probably just a coincidence in the timing....lol

Can't say about Bondage, but I was on Alt for a few years back.  I agree, the site was not worth the money.  It was frustrating that I was paying for a membership while the women didn't.  CM is a free site and for the most part offers more for less in my opinion.  Like others, I agree, charging for memberships would likely destroy a good thing and none of us wants that.

If I were going to pay for membership, and not saying I would, I'd want some special service with it.  Like a membership base that was verified... if I'm paying to look at you mugs I want to know you are who you claim to be and someone somewhere has done something to verify that.  That would be nice, but I don't see it happening.  Could think of some other services too, but again, don't see them happening.

As for charging for emails, I suggested that only because I had been on another site previously that did so and it seemed to have an effect at reducing the spam and "worst" type messages.  People just didn't waste their money to email you with hate mail or to correct your spelling or other such nonsense.  That might work here, might not... I suspect a lot of folks would protest it as well, even if the cost were very low.  People have gotten used to things being free and rocking that boat will undoubtedly make some big waves.

I don't vote because democracy is a delusion.

What should be stressed here is the formation of a group acting as an organic whole and training itself to operate in a social context, like a girl's basketball team. collarme.com as another for-profit, dumbass, lunatic website like those already mentioned ..? Or as a means to inculcate the feeling of participation in a collective culture ..?

I think the OP is offering us the opportunity to return to highschool in-group exclusion. This site is for deviant subculture. If YOU must exclude, why not charge people who are NOT deviants ..?
