The problem isn't that there are so many men -I'm sure the women and gays here like that- but that there aren't enough of the complimentary sex to keep up. Instead of cutting out men, we should be looking to include more women [:)]

No arguments there.

As far as charging per message... Basic economics says it will cut down on the messages one recieves, but then again, it'll cut down both the good with the bad. The examples given of other sites in the rest of the thread would suggest that it'll take out dispraportionately more good than bad. I think CM is better off without it.

NO!

Plenty of slime on the pay sights with gold/premium memberships. In fact I think it makes them even more irritationg & aggressive with their undesirable tactics... they are just like the slime that will buy you dinner or even a drink & think you owe them something.

Not really, you would just have slime with money.  It would thin out the herd some but a lot of good male doms and subs would be gone with the slime.   Do you define the quality of a man by the green in his hand...how many cars he owns...the size of his house? I suppose if that's all one looks at to define quality then yes....you would get rid of the slime.  Personally I value honesty, integrity, a sense of  responsibility for the well being of others.  That is how I mark the quality of a person, man or woman.  What do you think....too preachy?  Were you looking for a simple yes or no?....cause I don't do those.

Charge per e-mail....  Let's do some math....  If you charge $0.10, then I can go to work as a dishwasher for an hour (in Canada) and make enough to send out 80 e-mails.

If you charge $1, and no one will send a friendly hello because of a great post.

And I, personally, am here because there is no credit card involved.  It aint the money, it's the identity thing.

You're right but I needed to get on my soap box about something lol.  Most people here want there anonymity.  The amount they would charge wouldn't likely be much of a deterent....only to the most poor that are right now searching the couch cusions for their two cents to throw into this thread.  I don't even keep credit cards and you know they woud want one. We were once told by the Mods that they would not charge anyway.  That's what all these ads are for...to keep it free to us.

I'm a Domme and voted no.  After reading the thread, I have to agree that if anyone could be charged seperately, it would be more effective to charge females, to eliminate the whole fake profile thing.  Of course, it wouldn't really work, because then the legitimate females wouldn't join in most cases.  Then you'd really have an imbalance.
 
Just to chime in on the charge per email idea, I don't think that would be a good idea.  I have wonderful conversations with people here, but I would be less likely to email them or initiate contact if I had to pay for it.  Just imagine how many more threads we'd be reading about how rude it is not to receive answers to their emails!

This is the Internet people. You either learn to take the good with the bad or you should smash your computer and take up another hobby. There is no reason for the good folks who provide this service to us to change what it is they are doing unless financial strain becomes a serious issue and I suspect they would rather shut down than charge for this site. The site owners have repeatedly stated they will not charge us. I believe them.

To the OP: It is a surprise that the male to female ratio is lopsided? HNG's abound on sites like this. If this makes the competition harder then so be it. The only real disadvantage to an abundance of trolls is that (it seems to me anyway) a good deal of the women tend to brand all guys with a negative slant as a result of the harassment.
