I am new to the D/s dating online - very single and have been lucky to have  a sub in the past by chance - now I look with intent. Since I ahve had one sub prior and am new to this venure - any words of Wisdom?

get out of the online dating and go to a slosh or two around you and meet people you can actually see eye to eye.  The forums here are wonderful.  Remember 95% of who you meet online isn't who you will meet in real life.  95% of those you meet online will never show up to meet in real life.  Don't whine and bitch when you can't find what you want in a week.  Build a better profile....browse others for ideas.  Don't ever give out personal information to anyone...no matter how "safe" they seem.

For one, you are in a great town where there is a really thriving scene.  Hit me up on the other side if you want specific information on the groups here.

Welcome btw

Read, explore, learn.

Have patience.

Know what you want, what you are willing and unwilling to compromise on.

<OP>

Welcome welcome ^_^

In general, and in addition to aforementioned comments: be honest about your wants.  If you don't know eactly, admit it, and if you do, fill your profile out to a book =P  Well, okay, don't be as bad as me, but that's simply out of me being long-winded =P

However, be specific about yoursef, by all means.  Profiles on this site that say "I'm new to scene and want to meet people" get overlooked because they fail to convey what's in your soul.  Even if it's all your vanilla hobbies, put 'em down.

Not to mention it will help ward off the vapid wastes of flesh you'll undoubtedly run into, because they don't like to/don't know how to read ^_^

Blind, have to disagree with you there.  Stating you're new in your profile for a female is worse than hanging a "fresh meat" sign around your neck!  Long profile don't ward off the non readers.  None of us are safe from those!

BlindUnknown -> RE: Starting out (5/21/2007 11:04:48 PM)

ahaha, well, *shrugs* wouldn't know, i've never gotten a mail from anyone actually asking about me =P  just little comments "hello goodbye".  It wouldn't erase them, but it would certainly help, especially considering a domme is the most out-numbered group of all with their matches =P
