Hi there, philosophy, good to see you posting again. In answer to your question about enemies becoming allies, I think that several factors come into play. One is the length of time they have been at each other's throats, one is how much cultural differences separate them and how many cultural similarities they share, and finally, is whether or not they have a shared outside threat or perceived enemy. (I suggest you post that question as a whole other thread, it is a great separate discussion!) quote:
