I was going to continue the thread on LadyPaige's thread about online fantasy game players, but it really wasn't what I thought it was. Given that I don't want to hijack her thread, and the topic is of interest to me. I figured I would start a thread about MMORG's. I've been playing them forever. I started on BBS, my first true one was Gemstone. It wasn't graphic it was all typed and so where the "rooms" you adventured it. I've play pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons and I prolly qulify as a pretty big nerd. I know alot of rules on that game which will never be useful ANYWHERE else. (well except when I'm playing the online version I guess. :P) I've played card games such as Magic. (no I didn't play pokemon) I've played UO which I though sucked, although I liked the personal instance dungeons/missions. I played EQ, and that was great for awhile, if a bit out of balance and relying WAY to much on 30+ person raids to get anything "good". I played Shadowbane and was FULL on addicted, I built my own city with the help of my girlfriend. I was clocking 10+ hours a day on that game getting 5 or so hours of sleep while the servers where down. I had to quit playing when I went on vacation and they baned my city. I came back having little left and very sad. (I was a neutral city for trading and training) Come to find out someone had a city listed on Ebay and my neighbors though it was mine. I played EQ2 which was cool till I got to higher levels and there wasn't much to do, and it wasn't setup very well. I played WOW, now that's a nice MMORG there. I quit playing right before the first expansion when they messed up the UI so all my mods quit working. See I was looking around for working mods and got my account keylogged from spyware which my Anti-virus didn't pick up. Blizzard was so backlogged with requests for item/gold reimbursment that they gave everyone a bunch of green crap gear and said "go play, you'll get better stuff in the expansion anyway!". I had 3 pieces of Nemisis, and I couldn't redo the quests to get the items needed to enter a couple of dungeons. Needless to say I was hot, I quit playing WOW then. I've been playing Warcraft 3, I play alot of Battletanks, Dota, and various TD's. Some of the other games which I think should be mentioned are. Diablo because it was SWEET. Baldurs Gate again because it was cool, even though it sucked in Multiplayer mode. Tribes, quake, Battlefield, half-life, Mech warriors, and Rome. All good games. Anyway, I look forward to hearing you guys experiences and games. In a thread that actually is about Fantasy Game players!
