i would be interested in knowing the preferred routine of locking and unlocking, of your slaves in chastity belts? Do you always do this personally or do you allow your slave to? Do you ever allow your slave to touch the keys?

I don't know never had a slave who I wanted or needed to put in chastity.
I talked to a submissive man for a long time who desperately wanted to be put in chastity. But I reasoned that if he couldn't do as he was told without it he wasn't for me. I also met and played with another submissive man who wanted the same thing again it's not for me. Slaves don't dictate the terms of their slavery. I do. That is if I ever wanted a slave. If you want to be a slave then be prepared to do whatever your Mistress wants is my advice. And you have to accept the consequences of your decision to become enslaved by someone. It's your choice after all.

Locking/Unlocking chastity belts

Locking would almost always be done by me whether its routine or chastisement caused as it’s a strong display/indication to the sub/slave of her submissive status. The unlocking can vary dramatically because of my intent.

I would unlock as an erotic act
I would unlock to show my control over her life.
I would unlock her as a reward for accepting her punishment well and submissively.
I would unlock her because I want to take her regardless of her wants and needs. Of course if I were still upset or displeased with her for some reason she would be locked back up immediately.
I would unlock her if I wished to torment her by teasing her privates while flogging her and then relocking her up to emphasize her slavery without allowing her orgasmic release. This of course if what caused the chastity incident were serious enough to warrant this sort of treatment.
She might be allowed to unlock herself with no fanfare or “aftercare” if I wished to show I was still displeased with the original incident. For the same reason I might unlock her and simply walk away leaving her to ponder what it was she had done to displease me.
If the whole thing was an erotic exercise, I might allow her to unlock herself while I teased and loved her, laving her with aftercare as a means of showing that it can be done with love and hopefully leaving her with a need to experience it again.
If she in any way acted uppity upon the removal of the chastity belt, she would instantly find herself back in the infernal thing with a few additional correctional aspects added such as being tied to a cross or suspended painfully, or breastbound etc.
She might be allowed to lock the chastity belt on as a show of her compliance
She might be forced to lock it on as a way to emphasize her helplessness to avoid punishment.
Normally my letting her lock or unlock it would indicate my trust and that I’m pleased with her.
Forcing her to lock or unlock the thing would of course mean the opposite situation; that I’m displeased with her and wish to show how helpless she is to control the situation. Forcing her to unlock knowing she is to be taken, possibly anally, and to be immediately made to lock herself back up would send a powerful message of control.
The messages that can be sent to your slave Male or female are extremely varied depending on how you do it and what your demeanor is during the process as well as before and after.
I’m sure that other members can suggest many other variations on the procedure to show other emotions, to frighten, to demean, to objectify, to bolster, even to reward.

The one time I used chastity that required a key, I kept it.  I personally have gotten to the point in my life that if my instruction not to masturbate isn't enough then I'm really not interested in the person.  While I have no guarantees that he's not masturbating I live a life of trust with my slave and believe he will tell me the truth if he "slips".

If he masturbates and then lies about it, then that's his burden to bear and eventually this will come back to haunt him in one way or another.  I do realize the potential benefits of chastity training for some people.  It's just not my cup of tea.

Mistress has kept me in chasity before.  She always kept the key and controlled when it was unlocked, only by Her.  But that was Her preference.  She enjoyed the erotic nature of it.

I've used them before and have always kept the key with the slave having an emergency spare in a sealed envelope.  Locking and unlocking was a bit of a ritual as I simply enjoy things that way.  Most times I would do it, though there were times when I was not available, I would instruct him to.  But I am also of the same mind as earthycouple, if I feel I have to use a chastity device, I'm not interested in the person.  It can be a fun prop to use and a tool but it should not be necessary.

I'm going to go out on a different limb here because I do enjoy chastity devices very much. It has nothing to do with distrust or mistrust of their ability to follow orders. If those were issues, or if I felt I had to use one, then I wouldn't be in a relationship with that person. For me the use and look of chastity devices are simply something I find very hot and I enjoy the psychological aspect of them.  So while I agree with earthycouple and Ms Kat on the aspect of needing to use one, I do it because I want to use one.

Ohh this makes me miss my key :(  I have to admit when we were using a cb he was a llowed to take it off before he went to bed and put it back on in the morning  (long story )  I didnt want him in chastity becasue i was worried he would disobey me I like that he had to do something that meant every time he got erect or needed teh toilet he always knew I was in control of his dick.  When he was coming to visit he would be told to wear it a few days before he came over 24/7 and then when he came home I would unlock it when we had finished having a big scene.  It was always symbolic and the same when I locked him up to go home.  He had a key obviously and I did but my key was very symbolic to me.  I think its nice to make it into kind of a ritual but then again on the other hand if your not doing it for sexual reasons and you want to make it so your completely uninterested in his cock or whatever anymore then having nothing to do with the on and off of it and just giving the orders would be a pretty cool snub to it all.

as a sub who has never beenin a chastity device but has a fearful curiosity about being so, i tend to share a bit of the view of Ms. SDFemDom4cuck.  If i am in a relationship (a real relationship, based on trust, mutual goals, and attractions) the device would not be needed to keep me from "wandering" or failing certain instructions.  The reality of the device would be to sybolize my Mistress' control over my sexuality.  In other wrods, it is Her "property" and the device is only there to reinforce that dynamic.

I'm with Ms Jo on this one.  Chastity devices, just like handcuffs, and restraints shouldn't be necessary to keep a partner from leaving ; but they are fun.  If my submissive needs to be tied to the bed or he will run away, then go I say.

However.... chastity devices are just plain  fun (for me).  Whether the male is thrilled with it or not, I enjoy them in most every respect... and wearing the key around my neck to haunt him is fun too.  I don't want a male who doesn't intend to listen or respect my orders, but there is an emotional element that goes along with chastity training that I have found deeper than orgasm control by word of mouth only.
