Yep...that's what i have said over and over on this thread.  She can believe and say what she wants and so can others.  i never said any differently.

Freedom of Speech is NOT the same as Freedom From Ridicule
No, that's true.  My point is that if she's going to be ridiculed for something, it should be for her "stupid" statements that someone disagrees with, not because of her weight or sexuality.  However, what keeps happening is that she says something someone hates her for saying so they call her a fat lesbo.  Yeah, you can ridicule someone all you want, that's true, i just think if someone is saying that they hate what she's SAYING, that's what they should ridicule (if that's the way they choose to handle their feelings), not her personal attributes.

I may defend to the death her right to say it, but when it's patently stupid, I will defend to the death my right to call her on it
Sure, but as with anything, "stupid" is all in one's personal opinion.  There are those on television, mainly Bill O'Reilly, who i disagree with nearly 100% of the time.  i think his views are pretty "stupid," as you say, but he has every right in the world to broadcast those "stupid" views and (too) many, IMO, agree with him.  He has every right to do it, they have every right to agree, and i certainly have every right to disagree.  i don't call him an ugly ole perv for the way he looks or for the things he's done in his private life when i disagree with a statement he makes.  i simply say, "Wow, that is soooo wrong and ignorant."[8D].........slave luci

You have no idea the amount of composure necessary to abstain from following your lead, launching into my own 78 megaton rant about that hypocritical Fred Flintstone lookalike, complete with that "OH YEAH" Kool Aid punchbowl of a head. So, instead I will simply awe you all by simply agreeing. In other news, the headrest of my office chair just burst into flames.

Kool so how patriotic is this:

Bush makes power grab
Posted: May 23, 2007

President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.
The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive," with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator.

That job, as the document describes, is to make plans for "National Essential Functions" of all federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments, as well as private sector organizations to continue functioning under the president's directives in the event of a national emergency.
The directive loosely defines "catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions."

When the president determines a catastrophic emergency has occurred, the president can take over all government functions and direct all private sector activities to ensure we will emerge from the emergency with an "enduring constitutional government."
Translated into layman's terms, when the president determines a national emergency has occurred, the president can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.

Rosie is all over the news and they quietly pilfer this through!  NOT a word from the press!

We now have all the frame work for a dictatorship slipped into place and ready to go on the next little problem that they wish to label a "disaster"...   What happened to that oath?

Nosathro -> RE: Rosie O'Donnell (5/28/2007 11:56:56 AM)

greetings

There is nothing wrong in a good honest debate.  However with Rosie rather than debating the issue she attacks the person.  Meaning her agruement so so weak she is afaired to lose. Now look at some of Rosie actions in the past.  She had a very good job with Walmart in their advertisment but she quiet stating that Walmart sold guns and she is against firearms ownership.  She goes on to Host the MTV Rap Music Awards where everyone states that half the people there are carring firearms.  Then she hires a bodyguard for her kids who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, she states she had to do it to protect her kids from all the "Nuts out there".[:'(]

This woman believe she is the only person in world who is right and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong
Yeah, sooooo unlike those who would have her tarred and feathered for differing from THEIR opinions[;)]

What really gets me is Walters continues to defend this woman and justifies all of this by pointing to the increase in the shows rating.  It seem Walter is more interested in rating than personal feelings.
Say it ain't so?!?!  A show's producer caring more about ratings than anything else?  What is the world coming to?  Have you SEEN the line-ups of TV programming?  Do they care about ANYTHING besides ratings?[8D]

If I where another Co-Host of that show I would walk off the show and never return
Yeah, me too.  i'd totally give up that fat-ass paycheck just because someone disagrees with me.........not!  ......... slave luci

WE should tar and feather rosie fat bitch and run her out of the country, this is America and you are free to express you views but call our troop terrorists makes her a traitor to our country..just the hard views of this ol' master

So you really mean, you are free to express your views, so long as they fit certain restrictions.

Sortof like Iraq was free as long as they obeyed.

However, she does have the right to believe it and say it without being attacked for being a fat, ugly lesbian which seems to be where most people take it.

Not quite.  She has a right to believe it, and say it, but others have just as much of a right to criticize her for it.  Freedom of Speech is NOT the same as Freedom From Ridicule.  I may defend to the death her right to say it, but when it's patently stupid, I will defend to the death my right to call her on it.

**applauds**

Freedom wouldn't be freedom if it was only freedom when higher ups wanted it to be. But that works both ways!

However, I will agree that "fat". "ugly" and "lesbian" and really moronic insults to be hurling around, and hurts the case against her if physical traits and how she likes to do it is allt hey have.

She was not saying you dont have a right to say somting about her opinion she was saying that people dont like her opinion so instead of just dissagreaing they start name calling and he apearance and sexual orientaion have nothing to do with it so why bring it up?? it just makes the ones that start insulting look like the morons.

Oh and I agree  with slaveluci she prettymuch gave my opinion so no need to re state it.
