We convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and the people of Spain, and express our strongest condemnation and opposition to this inhuman act. (Oh that is so sweet) Successive terrorist bombings send an explicit message to the whole world that governments should never let up, not at any time nor in any place, on co-operating in the fight against terrorism. (think gloooooobal) Ever since the September 11 attacks, the fight against terrorism has topped the global co-operation agenda. (yep time to fight the "never ending war"!!) In an increasingly interdependent international world, people around the globe have an increasingly clearer understanding that terrorism constitutes a common threat to civilized society and that stamping out terrorism requires the common effort of all members of the international community. (oh thats a good idea, lets have a common "GLOBAL" effort to stamp out these terrorists over the next few 100 years of so, never return the us to a state of non-emergency so government can continue to "legally" get around the constitution citing emergency powers) In response to Thursday's bombings, counter-terrorism experts met privately in Vienna in a renewed drive to pool data and expertise from nations, military forces and crime agencies in the global fight against terrorism. (ouuuu day it is! GLOBAL again, i wonder who would think so GLOBALLY!!!!) A "Vienna Declaration" being hammered out at the conference, hosted by the United Nations (ouuuu day it is! The UN, The UN will fix it!!!) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, warned that agencies risk overlooking some aspects of the terrorist threat while duplicating efforts on other fronts. (Its so nice of the un to save us isnt it?) *thinking idiocracy*, thats not the U.N. its the "un") It must also be kept in mind that the road ahead is still as rocky as it has always been and the job of eradicating terrorism in all forms no less tough. Most importantly, it will be extremely hard to get rid of the soil from which terrorism grows. (In the patriot act 2 terrorism is defined as any crime!) Think about it! Yeh its all about Al Queada isnt it? Lets have the whole world all under one roof gathered around the camp fire singing kum-by-ya with hugs and kisses. The Sovereign, NWO http://english.people.com.cn/200403/13/eng20040313_137385.shtml crap here is more! EU Majority of governments introducing data retention of communications - nine states adopting data retention laws so far - ten out of 15 governments favour a "harmonsing" EU measure on data retention - Ireland heads the table with data retention for 3 years Summary On 12 July 2002 the EU agreed fundamental changes of the 1997 EC Directive on privacy and telecommunications preventing the erasure of data and allowing member states to introduce new laws requiring communications providers to keep traffic data and make it accessible to the law enforcement agencies). A draft, binding, EU Framework Decision prepared by the Belgian government (and backed by the UK) has temporarily been put on the shelf due to widespread criticism. But a secret document shows that at the national level nine out of 15 member states have, or are planning to, introduce mandatory data retention (only two member states appear to be resisting this move). In due course it can be expected that a "harmonising" EU measure will follow. http://www.statewatch.org/news/2003/jan/12eudatret.htm
