How do you define 'edge play'?

How often? As often as you want?

The catalyst? Well, it's edgy! Like any kink, why does anyone really want it? Once you've gotten a few years experience, it's natural to want to branch out into different, edgier, types of play. Some we gravitate towards and others not. Some doms adore flogging, some fire play, depends on their own kinks. Any kink CAN become edgy- the Owners choice is canes.

The gain? Well there can be a higher intensity of play, a higher risk which brings more adrenaline, it can bring them closer together by sharing a deeper experience, and they simply expand their play boundaries and skill set.

Like anything- take what you want and leave the rest.

All I know is that Dom/mes always seems to know...

I've gotten to the point where I think "Oh God, I don't think I can take any more of this" and then they magically stop.

I think it might be that I'm pretty noisy at first... I used to be mute, but my first Master trained me out of it (he like hearing noises!), but when it gets really tough I start to slip into a form of meditation to deal with the pain- which is noticible because I get quieter and less responsive. So I bet that's pretty recognizable : D. I'm not sure if they know it's meditation, or if they think I'm fainting though... hehe.

Well that's what communication, trust, and empathy is for.

Edge play can bring in more trust. If I asked you to clothes your eyes and fall back for me to catch you would you do it?

I bring my pet to the edge whenever I feel like it and it allows us to go further every time.
