fourpeas -> 40 days and 40 nights (5/19/2005 11:37:26 AM)

I have been given an intense, reflective assignment for the next 40 days! I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone and ask for encouragement over the next 40 days to stay focused and intense.

I have been given a journal from my dom with all the pages taped down one by one, one page per day; one assignment on each page per day. I am very excited and eager to begin this.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Hmmmm Day One: Clean Litter boxes

Day Two: Clean Litter boxes

Day Three: Clean litter boxes

Don't cats ever stop going to the bathroom? :)

Focused is good, intense maybe. Intense is intense because it's a sharp rising from the norm- to maintain intensity leads to burnout. In fact many doms and subs find themselves burnt out of the scene after the first 6 months once their frenzy is gone.

Find joy in the every day things, intensity is good, but not sustainable over long periods. You have to come down and relax eventually. If you build expectations that "life is intense" then you will only be more confused and bereft when you realize it really isn't. Life is just life.

There's a special closeness that you can have such that when you are just relaxing on the couch watching tv, not all wet and hyper and buzzed, just together, happy.

Wet and hyper and buzzed is great, but there's a lot more to explore.

What's day one assignment?

LOL laughing my a$$ off at the litter box things... so funny.

The journal is a 40-day exploration meant to explore that, what you said about keeping the focus strong and not losing the intention behind the meaning. He said some of the tasks are going to be really challenging, and others not as much.

Day One;

There are four marked off sections in the journal, and I am to reflect and write down how I would bring my energies as an "unstoppable team" (this is one of O/our core concepts) to the following areas:

In the home
In a business
Raising children
As an artist

This is serious stuff. I am eager to take it on.

I have a feeling some of the entries are more active, and others are reflective. But is is a journey. So exciting to be taking this on, after the manic energies of some of my previous assignments which have involved me running around in sort of a hyper-animated state.

Being a religious person and partaking of Lent, I can definitely say that 40 days is a telling period of time. I think if you can do anything for 40 days you can really do it. It took me less than 40 days to quit smoking. ha

Wow. Sounds like it's going to be an interesting assignment. Makes sure to post about the results. ;)

I think your enthusiasm is great and look forward to hearing the results. And yes, I agree that the frenzy of the new relationship and especially if new to the lifestyle will likely wear off, but hope you enjoy it nonetheless. As long as you know that for most, the honeymoon period will subside, which doesn't mean you'll never experience it again, you sound like you're off to a great start!

Be well and play safe,

harmony
