Status: offline 		Speaking here about toys a sub/slave owns her/himself, bondage devices, floggers, clamps, stocks, that sort of thing.

Seems to me, based on the sub I have known, slave-owned devices are of three types:

a. those the sub purchased when a newbie, out of curiosity, a newbie's interest.

b. devices the were given to the sub by a Master, or which she bought on a Master's instruction.

c. devices the sub particularly loved being used...eith on its own flesh, or on another, perhaps a sis, at a munch or demonstration. In this category are devices that have a lot of meaning for sub....often items they will only show to Dom/mes they like particularly well, for special occasions. I know one sub that owned her own single-tail, carefully wrapped and prserved. Another who had a whipping chair, fitted with a wicked anal plug.

Do any subs here own favorite gear? How did you come to acquire it? When do you let it be used on you? Is it a precious possession? How do you care for it?

Status: offline 		i have a threefavorites: 1) a black leather hood that i bought and my Dom will use it almost evertime he comes over. 2) The 2 vibrators that he gave me to use when he can not come over. And 3) my wonderful spreader bar that he also gave me.
    When he can not come over due to work and i can play with my toys, it is always my duty to wash the vibes before he comes over.

I dont have a "spring" near my house, shall I walk to the park when I use my clothes pins?
I care about myself.... I use them carefully on my nips when I ask permission !
 
In all seriousness....  I am not a slave,  toys dont matter to me..... but I do respect the manner in which Sir takes care of me AND his toys.

Status: offline 		I bought all of the toys in the toy collection that Valyraen and I use, with the exception of one jackrabbit that he replaced for me. With few exceptions, I owned them all before entering into this relationship and without exception they will all be mine if we terminate the relationship.

I own just about everything I enjoy having used on me. Floggers, crops, pinwheels, vibs, chains, rope, gags and so. I began this collection because as a single submissive I realized very quickly that it was not in my best interest to expect the dominant I was playing with to have the toys I would be interested in using. Having a nice collection of personal toys, I can pack them up in a hatbox and bring it over. Once there, I can safely tell them that they can play with anything in that box.

As for when the toys are used on me... well that is entirely Valyraen's choice. I use a higher end toy cleaner to maintain the insertables since some are rather expensive. For now I don't do much to maintain the leather as it hasn't shown a need for care. Plus it's not very nice and will probably be replaced as soon as I can afford it.

Status: offline 		I had a few toys before exploring BDSM for self-pleasuring, like clothes pins and vibs.  My first dom gave me a small tens unit and i bought my butt plugs, ben-wah balls, over the door cuffs and some new vibs. When i introduced this to Hubby we bought a bondage kit, nip clamps and several bondage videos together.

Have to say it doesnt come out to play very often as its actually not very practical *sadly* but still its nice for special *treats*

Status: offline 		Personally, all insertable toys are things that I purchased and are mine, now and forever.  I don't allow them to be used on anyone else, and I don't want anyone to use an insertable toy on me that was used on someone else.  Yes, toys get cleaned regularly, but what is that term I see here so frequently?  It makes me "squiky".  If I meet someone and they say I have "this, that and the other insertable thing", I politely tell them that's very nice, but unless it is still in the original packaging, I would not consent to it being used on me.

I don't have the same icky feelings about non insertable toys, for what should be obvious reasons.

Status: offline 		in my personal opinion a sub who plays with multiple people should have her own toys...simple little things like hep c can live outside the body for 16 hours to 4 days and you can't bleach leather (the only way to kill most transmitable diseases) and when you break the skin with a single tail traveling faster than the speed of sound it atomizes the blood...
but if you trust everyone you play with and everyone they play with and everyone they play with and so on...go for sharing toys...

--knowing that anything from the toybox used by the Dom will be pleasurable, tolerable and clean.

Moreover, when the sub adds a new tool to the box, it will almost certainly prompt new sensations, experimentations.

Those are a lot of of plusses. I wonder if any subs include in their blogs a survey of toolbox changes, what's been added, what's worn out, and what new device is being saved-up for.

I have some toys that I came to the relationship with.  At this point I consider the toys that my owner and I have to be our toys, that I am charged with cleaning and taking care of.  I could probably figure out which ones are his and mine if I spent enough time thinking about it (most of them are his), but most of my favorite toys are rather simple ones - knives, noose, and some impact toys.

Status: offline 		If me and Master ever ended our relationship I would definately take my toys with me as I paid for them. But my favorite toys are my clothespins, we just bought some not to long ago and we use them quite often and they have varied uses, unlike nipple clamps.

Status: offline 		Well wehn i met master the only toys i owned were a vibe and nipple clamps.  The ones that i got from Master that i like the best are  my leather wrist restraints ans my velcro ankle restraints they are so much fun to use.   If Master an i ever broke up (which is not likely to happen) i think the toys would be mine to kep.  Master gve me other toys but you just asked about which ones we liked the best.   Well there is one more for Christmas i gave him a 10 speed vibe for him to use i like it but at the same time i hate it.

Status: offline 		As a switch I own toys that I thought would make neat sensations, that I was curious about, that were gifts from subs (both those that served me and as "fellow" subs), that were gifts from doms (again, from those who topped me and "fellow" doms both), that I made, that I felt a good Top should have, a wide variety of things.
I try to keep my toys clean, I generally use 10% bleach solution, I wash silicone insertables on the top rack in the dishwasher, along with glass insertables, I allow service subs to help care for my leather.
