The thread about avatars and art licensing makes me wonder how free clip art can be used. I know one site i looked at said personal use was fine but not to use it commercially, but many other sites don't seem to put restrictons on it. We design websites and i am never sure what i can use legally for backgrounds, icons, buttons, mastheads, and artwork. I'd appreciate others' input on this.

Free clipart can be used for advertising, websites, etc. It is royalty free. Often times it is a good idea to give credit where credit is due, though.

hehe. Often times they will include a terms of use. You might want to check on that before you use their images.. But you should be ok. If not, Yellow Pages is in HUGE trouble. lol
