Status: offline 		A question, probably for the ladies who are always aware of fashion.
If I wanted my sub to wear a nice ankle chain, which side means what ?
I'm thinking along the lines of guys getting one ear pierced, used to mean
something by which side you pierced, left or right.
Does that even apply anymore?

Status: offline 		I have always been of the understanding that a single article worn left side was dominant, right side, submissive.

I always wear anclets on my right ancle and braclets on my right wrist, watches on my left, if Im not wearing a watch i prefer to wear my braceletts on my left as well as my anclets its just a personal preference thing for me I think it has to do with evening myself out. LOL

Status: offline 		In the Leather community where my Lord and alandra lives bottoms flag right and tops flag left.  I am allowed to wear one piece of jewelry on my left ring finger and that is the ring he bought me for an anniversary.  Otherwise all other jewelry is worn on my right unless I am wearing something on both sides.

It is my understanding that flagging may not be universal across the entire US and Canada, so your region may be different.

I don't know about D/s, but from a vanilla view, left is single, right is taken. I suppose they match after all.

Status: offline 		LOL well for me it was always watches on the opposite of your dominant hand, and hankies/symbols were left for top and right for bottom.

toe rings both feet
rings both hands
my "public collar" bracelet, right wrist as per Sir's orders
leather collar, left ankle when its worn, also as per Sir's orders.

i would suppose its as your Dominant wishes.  there are a few items of jewelry i always wear...and others i kind of wear as i please.  Sir has allowed to me keep and wear as i wish gifts from former lovers, some of whom were Dominants.  i dont wear those items as anything but gifts from people who love(d) me and Sir knows this.

Status: offline 		I wear all my jelwery on my right, braceltes, anklets, toe rings; the ONLY ring on my left hand would be that from my Husband/Master; since I am single, it stays empty. I do wear a ring on my left ring finger on occassion, when I want to be left alone some nights or when I go out with a few guy friends, its safer that way and guys generally think I am married to one of the guys, so its a safety thing. I'm also right side/hand/foot dominant.

Vanilal view - left is taken, RIGHT is single. Thats why a wedding ring goes on the LEFT hand.

actually....the idea that the wedding ring goes on the left hand goes back to roman times.  the romans believed that there was a vein leading directly from the left hand to the heart, specifically the "ring finger".

and the custom of wearing wedding bands on the left hand also relates tothe fact that the majority of the world is right handed.  the left hand therefore does less work, and the ring is less likely to be damaged on the left hand.  my hubby is a lefty, and wrecked his ring 4 different times before saying "you made your point, we're married, let me take the damned thing off before i amputate a finger!" 

i've inherited my grandmother's engagement ring...i'll probably wear *that* on my wedding ring finger.
