Shaun of the Dead.  It's funny, emotional, and it has strong characters.  You just don't get that in zombie movies nowadays.  Plus it's on dvd now.  Easy to pick up.

*edit: wait, why is this thread in the 'ask a slave' section again?  This seems more of an 'off-topic area'.

To avoid another "300 isent historically accurate" bullshit discussion i'd venture to guess. Which is fine by me.

Still loved 300 btw. Another favorite of mine is Jackass 2, and of course anything by Tarintino.

...well...maybe not Jackie Brown.

I thought "Grindhouse" to be the best movie I have seen in awhile.
It comes with a warning though.
You have to be somewhat of a fan of, or at least have some familiarity with, the spirit of all those drive-in movie exploitation movies of the 1970's to really enjoy the film. This is especially true for the second part. "Death Proof."
Grindhouse is not for everyone, which likely explains why it did not do very well at the U.S. boxoffice.
But if you're in the mood for something wild, adventurous and a little bit daring, you'll have a lot of fun. It includes parodies of exploitation horror film commercials from the 1970s that were so authentic and hilarious, I laughed myself to tears.

I agree with lockedaway about "28 Weeks Later." When I go to the movies, I want to see something different, or at least an original take on a familiar theme since nothing much is really new under the sun.
Movies like Grindhouse and 28 Weeks Later fit that criteria completely. Very stylish. The music was amazing. I haven't even seen the first "28 Days Later" but it will be my next DVD rental.
Often, I'm a foreign film kind of guy and most recently enjoyed "The Wind That Shakes The Barley."
