Who in your life inspires awe within you?  Why?

I am in awe of anyone that possesses ...honor, trustworthiness, compassion, understanding, and want to reach out to help another....just because. Someone that can speak their mind, and still be willing to hear the opinion of others, respecting each persons right to disagree. Someone that is not afraid to stand up for what they feel is right, while not knocking someone else down in the process. Someone that thinks about how each word used to make a statement may affect another, before the statement is ever communicated.
Yeppers I think people like that are worthy of awe. We are all capable of exhibiting this type of behavior, but how wonderful when we do, even though we do not have to.

My father. He grew up kid #17 in a coal mining town in a 2 bedroom shack. (Yes I do wonder how they managed to make all those kids with no privacy!!) By the time he hit 35 he had become a multi millionaire all on his own merit. He is brilliant but has never forgotten his roots which taught me an awful lot about integrity to ones self. Dang I swear, I keep feeling like I'm mispelling words all over the place today!
IMO there just aren't enough 'Horatio Alger' stories anymore.

My dad is just awesome.  We fight, we fuss, but at the end of the day, hes my best friend.  I learned the value of patience just by watching him be patient with my mom and the bs shes put this family through.  He taught me to embrace my individuality and other flaws that media has taught me to hate about myself.  Hes the kinda guy that will tell you what you are doing wrong, and go out of his way to help you fix it, or point you to someone who knows better than him.  The other thing that just puts me in awe about him?

Hes put up with me for 20 years and molded me into the person i am today.

my little baby doll daughter who was born with a slight disability. She never allows it to hold her back and she's determined to do everything everyone else does - and she finds her own way.  She has even said that there was a purpose for her being born this way and one day she hopes to do something in her life to help other people and show them no matter what you can do anything you want in life.  Her wisdom and determination at such a young age is awe inspiring to me.
