It's a little marshmallow chick coated in colored sugar typically eaten around Easter. See http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/

It's also sometimes used to refer to people. Such as "Hey peeps (people), how're you?"

It can be another word for friends, as in "my peeps."

My first thought is PEEP = Peek End Expiratory Pressure... as in "Five of PEEP".
But that's a marshmallow chick of a different colour.
