Here's the Nazi defense argument:

(c) That the acts of torture in no case resulted in death. Most of the injuries inflicted were slight and did not result in permanent disablement.

Sound Familiar?

..i'm not 100% certain, but i think it was Puella on these boards who suggested a t-shirt that read, 'Who would Jesus waterboard'.....

Well you know he'd waterboard Bin Laden and al qeada.
And that's before he took a blowtorch to their testicles!
(My God is a *PUNISHING* God!)

Then he'd run them over with a HUGE S.U.V.

I doubt it. Jesus was not a fascist and he was not an American. That was redundant, wasn't it?

an enhancement indeed.

You guys are funny.  So, without laying a bunch of crap on our heads, would you have tortured someone, perhaps even tortured them to death, if it lead to information that would have prevented 9/11.

I need to say that again.  Stick with the hypothetical.  Please don't resort to saying "hey man, torture doesn't produce good intel."  That isn't the question.  The question is whether you personally  you would torture someone (perhaps to death) to get information that would have prevented 9/11?

My answer, predictably, is "yes".

So Bob thinks that all Americans are facsists.  I bet Bob is a big Ward Churchill fan too.

I wanted those windows that the LEd closes the light solid. So home windows at a touch would turn translucant- and one would not be able to see in.

Most cars come with tinted windows.  Tint can be a wonderous thing. If Jesus ordered the hybrid SUV, it would be red, drive fast, and have rally wheels, air conditioning, a CD player, AND tinted windows!!!!

for the hypo sure, why not?  that doesn't do a bit of good other than give me a woodie tho.....

'Cause I gotta tell you having some intercourse with acts like these, if I could have my hands on you (this is not hypothetical now) you will confess inside of 15 minutes that you burned down the Reichstag, and you alone, but here it the thing----

That don't necessarily make it FUCKIN' SO!!!!!!!!  Torture is not useful for these matters in that way.......it is like saying on your knees bitch to a Nigerian........

YOU say it doesn't do any good but then we have people that say that we have gotten good intel from it.  So I should believe...who???  Your position, I assume, is that we should take a Middle Eastern terrorist, lock them up, give them a Koran, three square meals a day, activity time and prayer time and ask them....what?  "C'mon guys, tell us where the sarin is."  Do you think that is going to work?  Just to make it clear, you don't think we should interrogate terrorists or do anything coercive to obtain information, is that right?

No that is not necesary at all...

On July 25, 2001,

Alex Jones brought out OPERATION EXPOSE THE GOVERNMENT TERRORISTS on his cable-access show based out of Austin, Texas. During the episode,

he stated that the World Trade Center was a likely target and that the government may use their known asset, Osama Bin Laden
.

He called on viewers to

first research his claims, then to

call the White House, Congress and other government authorities-- warn them, and let them know that if there is a terrorist attack, "we" know who the perpetrators were.

You dont need to torture anyone about 911, alex begged people to call in to congress and WARN CONGRESS TO CALL OFF THE ATTACK    DID YOU?

Oh wait thats fucked up conspiracy shit i forgot no one listens to that.

here is the show:

You'd lose. I don't know who Ward Churchill is...or was...whatever. And, no, I don't think all Americans are fascists. Just the ones who condone torture.

Hell yeah!
And I could come up with some real inventive stuff too!

Well, my friend, that is the difference between us.  I condone any form of interrogation that produces results.  If interrogators can show that they have obtained good intel from water boarding....then water board.  I respect your opinion but I believe you should reconsider calling other Amercians, patriots, fellows in arms, whatever...fascists.

Oh...just out of curiosity, what are you going to call Americans that consider using nuclear weapons to stop a 10 million man army from invading the U.S.

lockedaway -> RE: "enhanced interrogation techniques" - is a term originally coined by the Nazis. (5/31/2007 4:06:22 PM)

I didn't ask you whether it was necessary or not.  I simply asked you whether you would.  That is what I was getting at about sticking to the hypothetical.

Torture is, like Rape, INHERENTLY EVIL, and therefore there is NEVER any justification for it.

If you'll rape someone for a GOOD reason, you'll rape them for ANY reason.
