Poor Bush, he has fucked over Turkey so many times and is going to have to make a very hard decision about whether or not to do it again.  Being the liberal idiot I am it is easy for me to predict the future.  Bush will fuck Turkey over because supporting terrorists overseas will win him friends at home.  So he will not support Turkey's invasion of Iraq to go after Kurdish terrorists (The PKK, a group State used to list as a major terror group) because he so desperately needs the Kurds to chill out.  The only good news still comming out of Iraq is from the Kurdish controlled areas.

Iraq is currently in the middle of a civil war and a secular battle. And you think Turkey invading is going to help the situation?

I don't think the US government gives a damn about Turkey anymore after the way they promised to help in the coalition and then backed out at the last second. Had Turkey went ahead with what they agreed to do, the PKK could have possibly been eliminated by now.

The Turkish/Kurdish Civil War has been going on longer than the current Sunni Shiia Civil War.

I'm surprised it took this long to degenerate into a 4 way Civil War.

Kurdistan WILL NOT be part of Iraq, and they want that real-estate within Turkey's borders back.

AND they're going to want that real-estate within Iran's borders back.

Hmmm... Maybe *they* are the biggest destabilizing force in the middle east?

I recall speaking on this subject several times before it became news, as I have many others that came to pass, and I recall many people catcalling me and telling me that 'we ain't guatemala' (no one I see here so far) and it didn't take more than a profound idiot to pencil in what would have happened here....

We lost when we didn't give saddam a couple of mill (hell, a bill would have been cheap at this point) to bring us the terrorists, (anyone we would have named).........

and that would have ended it.

Instead, we have the people who like to call themselves conservative (they sure as hell ain't that) and warmongering and singing jingoes and gladhanding each other and extolling vapid and non-existant virtues.

And flinging the term liberals or left around like Churchill used to gum the word Narzhis.

Well, the liberals or left are apparently more conservative than the whoo-haa crowd.

Ron (coming to you from guatemala)

Ron,

You got to love any idiot who speaks of bringing democracy to a country where nobody wants the majority to run it, nobody wants the kurds to run it, and the people running it we threw out of power and so now nobody is running it.

At times I wonder if the grand scheme is to use the Kurds to take the Iranian coastal oil as one hears neocons drooling over a greater Kurdistan.  However, I don't think the current Republicans could run a sandbox without fucking it up.

Cyberdude,

Thanks for the Fox news summary but for those of us who weren't born this morning, we actually know how many times recently we have fucked over Turkey.  Why not check into the billions promised but never paid for the last time we used them to go to war with Iraq.  I love the sort of idiotic American's who think we can fuck over the world anytime it suits us and then want to act all shocked when the same people turn around and say "fuck you" back.

What a mess... Breath.

What has happened since the change of control? Well, We've learned that the Department of Justice is nothing by the Administration Flunkies, who put their Party before Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

We've learned that Alberto Gonzales either has no fucking clue what he's doing in an exec. admin. role, or he's just a lying piece of shit, either way, more indications that the DOJ is incapable of commanding respect anymore.

What else. We've learned that rather than be accountable ( what was the point of No Child Gets Ahead? ), he'd hold the troops hostage, despite his PROVEN FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILITY! ( What does Bush need more money from the treasury for, if Congress already authorized the budget this year? Is it because Bush couldn't properly manage the billion's he's been given??? REAL CONSERVATIVES HATE BUSH MOST. )

P.S.: The AUMF-Iraq was only approved by Congress after a concerted effort by Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, et. al. to deprive Congress of their Constitutionally mandates and Lawful role of oversight, in violation of 18 USC 371.

That's a felony, by the way.

A. Gonzales and Bush have the right to hire and fire justice's at will, Clinton fired every one of them upon taking office, Gonzales is in ass for tripping over his tounge and not having balls and standing up for what he did, which was perfectly leglit and well within his rights...
As far as "a feloney" get a life you are so misinformed it is pathic...

Sure they do. They *don't* get to

A) Lie. And Gonzales testimony on the record conflicts itself so many times, it'd be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

B) *HIRE* unqualified people based on purely Political motivations. N.B. You can *HIRE* all the QUALIFIED political hacks you want, but you can't circumvent the system, and bring in *UNQUALIFIED* political hacks.

18 USC 371 is a Felony. Deal with it.

I agree that Gonzales is an idiot,  there was no reason to lie when he did nothing wrong...
As far a quilified, thats just a judgement call and there is no crime in picking anyone politically benificial to you, all presidents do it, why are you screeming now...
If Bush commited a "felony" with the political climate what it is, the Dems would have his head on a platter.
Make some sense, and get your facts straight, just because you think it or feel it, dosen't make it so.

Monica Goodling.

I guess no-one from Yale, Harvard, Duke, c'mon, you know the GOOD Law Schools, with a few decades of experience was QUALIFIED or would accept the job, so they went to a 4th tier religious nut.

She *did* purge out the disloyal Attorneys, though.

You can't spell....Which would suggest that you might have an extremely difficult time reading....So I would guess the only two questions I would ask someone like yourself is, "What's on FOX tonight?....And since your head is so far up Bush's ass, "What did he eat for dinner?"

One thing about liberals, we can not only spell Iraq, we can find it on a map...and weren't dumb enough to believe:

  • Iraq had no history of ethnic violence
  • Iraq could pay for its own reconstruction
  • We would be greeted with flowers
  • Less troops would be needed after the war than during
  • Mission Accomplished
  • We have a plan
  • There is no insurgency
  • There are WMD in Iraq
  • Saudi Arabia is an ally
  • Pakistan is an ally
  • Iran is our enemy
  • Iraq was tied into Al Queda

I could go on but even my sadism has limits.
