Calandra -> Ladies, how many of you love to be swept away...? (6/1/2007 3:28:50 PM)

I respect that different people have different approaches to the D/s lifestyle. Some prefer to stay "professional". Others simply see it as "something they enjoy on occasion". Still others want the fairy tale... Love, respect, passion, and romance.

How many of you love poetry and soft words spoken only to and for you? Please share experiences where a submissive has "swept you off your feet" with sweet nothings and poetry.

Oooops, I meant to start off with a couple of "My" experiences to get things going:

This is an exerpt from a letter that cubby wrote to Me about a month ago...
"i want You to be happy and able to rejoice in every good thing that ever happens to You. i want to be able to be Your rock and safe harbor when the world has turned against You. i want to be Your safety net when You fall and Your ship to the stars when You fly."  ~swoons~

And a poem that toad wrote for Me last week...
A Love letter to my Mystress,

i love the way You think about things,
it makes me want to be a better thinker for myself,

i love the way You look at life, and see the small details
in social interactions in everyday structure,
it makes me want to get a magnfying glass to see as well as You do.

i love the way You have had positive impact after positive impact
upon me, and how i am becoming able to not only see how my actions
limit me in my path, but see how to improve and grow with less words in
each time i mess up, and how it feels that i'm messing up less, and growing more.

i love the way You inspire Trust in me, and leave me wanting to trust deeper
and far more passionately than i have ever wanted, Your trust in me and us
helps keep me on the path, and though it seems straight and narrow, it's infact, crooked, and wider than i can reach in either direction.

i love the way You have inspired changes in my everyday attitudes, and outlooks on life, learning to see things from every angle, not just my own.

i love how You inspire confidence in me with Your soft, assertive, careful tone, and when my confidence feels short, how You inspire me to ask questions in such a way that You are able to make me think about the answers for myself instead of just giving them to me.

i love the way You inspire care and details with love, fixing dinner, to making sure i'm taken care of, emotionally, physically, and mentally, Your touch upon me is guidance in every way, even the ways that aren't perceived right away.

i love You Mystress, for all that You are, and all that we can be when we are together. i trust You far more than i have ever trusted anyone, and i want it to deepen further. i love it when You toy with me to satisfy Your whims, then give Your heart and love to show that You treasure me, as much as i treasure You. As i sit here i am reminded of how i want to fit into Your life, without molding myself to it, to bend and sway with Your gentle breezes, but not snap and crack.

With Eternal Love and devotion,
Your toad

~melting~

So anyone want to share significant moments when your boy (or girl) melted your heart?

I had a previous boyfriend who would do very sweet things like making
my lunch to take for work and putting a little love note inside the bag.

Oh my...I've shared in my journal and here a time or two lovely things Robert has said and done for me.  One of the most touching things he did was post to his journal a recipe for chocolate pudding because I told him how much I like chocolate pudding but none of that fake stuff.  It was silly, it was sweet, it was heartfelt and it was real.  No one had a clue as to why some random recipe for chocolate pudding would be in a journal entry, but I knew.

Chocolates on Mother's day because I'm a mom.  That was beautifully sweet.  He has written prose to me on his journals as well.  I do so love the warmth and thought.

Oh I remember you posting something a couple of weeks ago that he'd written/said to you... I remember feeling all warm and mushy when I read it. ~smiles~

I can't help it, I'm a sucker for romance I guess...

I think the hidden language of love (secret things like the chocolate pudding recipe) is a lost art for the most part.

I remember years ago, mentioning in a busy chatroom that I get tired of the old cliche` of giving roses... I offhandedly said that I would swoon for a man who showed up at My door with something totally different, say a "bird of paradise"...

MONTHS later, I happened to go out with someone from that chatroom... OMG he showed up with... you guessed it, a bouquet of birds of paradise... I'd totally forgotten that conversation, but he thought enough to remember. ~soft smiles~

I'm not big on poetry, and I'm allergic to most flowers ... but I'm all for the romance, the little things that showed that he paid attention and wants to please.

My one and only successful (as in successful cause it worked for both of us) online sub was a man who lived in Hong Kong. We had a long distance D/s thing for more than a year. One thing we would do was exchange erotic stories geared to each other based on how well we had gotten to know each other. Not just the fetishes but personal information, likes, feelings and experiences. For instance, he rode a bike into his office each day so I would wrote a story about what happened to him when he fell off the bike (in reality) and skinned up his knees pretty badly. In short, there was romance on top of passion and kink. I last heard from him over 10 years ago but I still miss him and I will never forget him. :)

I have to have romance along with my passion and kink. If I don't I feel that the relationship is pretty empty. I am not into casual play so perhaps that is why. I prefer long term real time relationships.

I love romance.  For me, it can go both ways.  I can have a slave with whom I have a more "professional", strict relationship and ones I can have a more romantic, full relationship.  I like both.  I just like them when I want them from particular people.

I'm all for that! Although it's not a fairy tale to me...that is the reality I've been seeking for years. I can't do the unemotional "professional" thing. It just doesn't do it for me anymore. There is something vital that is missing in casual play.

I can be crueler, far more sadistic actually, when I have an emotional attachment than when I don't. If I don't care about someone then cruelty is rather hohum...meh...whatever. If I have no desire to poke around in their brain then I get bored far too easily. However once you add in that emotional bond of love and passion; that energy just soars through the roof and into the stratosphere.

The added bonus...There are times when being tender and loving can have a more devastating effect/affect than anything else. The casual play without an emotional attachment or bonding just doesn't hold any interest for me anymore. So lump me in with the fairy tale group.

I'm all for the romantic stuff if it is well thought out.  For example, I hate roses with a passion as they have always been harbingers of evil in my life.  If the time is taken to find out what sort of flowers I do like, or my favourite type of bath product, or books by an author I enjoy, then that, to me, is romance.  Going out and doing something because "society" says it is romantic annoys me.

I Love LOVE being courted and swept off my feet.

It is living the dream. Good manners, good prose, warm and sincere phone calls. Yum!
