I am looking for a tan leather collar. Everything out there is black or metal! I'm beginning to think I'm the only hippie submissive in the world...

You call yourself a hippie submissive? Feh!

A Twue hippy submissive would have a macrame collar [;)]

Now that you mention it, I can't recall coming across much bondage gear in tan. What I'd suggest doing is to contact people who make bondage gear that you like and ask if they could make a custom collar for you in tan. They may charge you more and take a few extra weeks because some types of leather are not easy to find or available in all colors and they may have to specially order the leather to make it. People who also make floggers may be more likely to have tan leather in stock.

An alternative is to buy a collar that you like and paint it with some tan paint from your local leather retailer or order it from a larger company, like Tandy or the Leather factory.

*laughing* A true hippie would not want a collar that is made of the skin of a poor demised animal. Okay, I'm not much of a hippie. But I never wear black anymore - wore it exclusively when I was young and then grew bored of it. I think I AM a tree hugger - love more natural tones, and hence my desire for a natural looking tan collar.

I'd suggest making one yourself. It's much more personal than buying something from a shop. And you can get exactly what is desired. Very nice looking collars can be made by braiding either leather strips or natural fibres, and enhanced with beading or quillwork.

You can usually get collars in different colors if you go to a site that actually makes their own rather than offering premade collars. Leather cellar is one such site. http://www.leathercellar.com/ringcollars.html While they show most of the collars in black, when you go to purchase, they offer colors, including brown. Do be aware if you choose one of the whiplaced collars, the whiplacing is black only.

I can certainly understand that. Black is so incredibly overdone that it's nice to have something a little different. One of the reasons I got involved in leathermaking was because there were so few options available and what was out there was generally poor quality. That's changed a fair bit these days and there's probably someone local to you that can provide what you're looking for. Let us know where you are and someone might be able to point you towards someone in your area.

This is sstringer, now cinnamonbell. I changed my login name to something a little more (ahem) "spicy". I'm in Charleston, SC.
