Things were a bit slow this afternoon at the BGC desk, so I decided to try a search on the name of an ex I want to make sure is at least 1000 miles away.  Zabasearch turned up one hit on her, but she was evicted from that place even before she was evicted from my life.

Every search site wants money.  Are there any places people know of where you can actually do a search of public records and not have to give your credit card number?

I guess that would come down to a matter of what I intended to do with the information.  I'm not going to do anything with it.  Hell, one of the people training me said it was a useful skill to develop.  It's a training exercise.

If anyone is having a knee-jerk, "how would you feel" response, one of my little brothers has used my house repeatedly in military targeting exercises and I've been virtually killed by everything from 155mm cannon to a precision airstrike.

you sound like you're still a little bit obsessed with your ex... you didn't say there was any sign of her trying to come after you or stalk you... you should leave well enough alone, maybe get some counseling if you need help to get over her, and live your life without feeling compelled to seek out information about someone you no longer care about.

It isn't something I worry about.  With the right information to include in the search, I'm easy to find.  So were most of the others I did before her.  Of course, if you just google my name, you get a spree killer of the right age.  I take great comfort in that (and anybody from 10+ years ago would be likely to believe it).
