There is a permanent post on the boards by Mod 11 regarding the Jessyka troll. It was pointed out several times in that thread.

erin,
By the way, basically are saying we should respect another company.  Are they above reproach?  They are fallible and i believe we have every right to voice our opinions even though it is free.  i am one person willing to pay for the site.  They own a site and are accountable for the actions here.

I think Erin would, she has that whole "klepto" vibe about her.

You're soooo bad!

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Disrespecting the Collarme Mgmt Team (6/1/2007 8:37:34 PM)

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm saying on the scale of things, it's really not that bad.  I'd liken it to a mom telling their kids to keep it down in the house, and a bird flying inside and all the kids shrieking and freaking out for awhile and then laughing once it's gone.

In Austin, there's a high school where the principal withheld the entire classes diplomas for two days after graduation and is considering punishing a few students caught on video for shouting and bouncing beach balls during the ceremony.

Yes, it's rude, but what happened to "OK people, please settle down" taking the balls away and moving on?  Excessive overreaction is never good, and sometimes it's best to just let it go and move on.

Pick your battles.

Did you think for one moment that the folks seeing this thread are floating in from the scroller and aren't really minding the routing drama that goes on here on these boards?  I myself happened in on this ridiculous nonsense tonight and had NO clue about any ban on speaking towards other users.  If you enter in that way, it tends to drop you in the middle of a thread and you avoid catching every single bit.  I can't say I sit and obsess about these boards, memorize who's bad and who's real and whos not, keep up on the current drama, et al.  There are better things to do in this world, and if that makes me such a horrible individual, well then, so be it.

MistressSassy66 -> RE: Disrespecting the Collarme Mgmt Team (6/1/2007 8:41:04 PM)

I enjoy being here also...That is why 99% of the time
I abide by the rules...I have in the past...overstepped
My boundries and was quickly reminded to stay inline.

Life is too short to get into a pissing contest with someone one here.

Not to say I wont say what I think,we all have that right, doesnt make us right or wrong just simply a person with an opinion.Who respects others for the opinions.

spanklette -> RE: Disrespecting the Collarme Mgmt Team (6/1/2007 8:44:24 PM)

You can just apologize to LA. She's Mod 11, anyway.[8D]

Laura -> RE: Disrespecting the Collarme Mgmt Team (6/1/2007 8:47:56 PM)

Yes, thanks and appreciation to the moderators. Some of us have done that job and know what a joy it can be at times.

But, why are there so many threads about this and more opening all the time? Get on with your life. This should be a non-issue the merest blip. Why is it being made into such a huge focus. Get over it already. Please move all this into off topic or just delete it all. It is past being silly now.

I really enjoy my time here on Collarme. I appreciate the efforts of all who make this site possible. It's reliable, it's here at my disposal whenever I get the urge. And best of all....it's completely free. I know there are a lot of others here who spend a good deal of their free time here, so I assume they enjoy it too.

So why then when the Mgmt of Collarme makes a request and asks us all to follow it, do some folks find that such a difficult thing to do? Isn't that kind of like telling them you don't really give a shit about their efforts, their policies or their wishes?

I know that most people here try hard to stay within the guidelines...and I will admit, some days that is pretty hard to do. But it seems like when a certain known troll pops in an awful lot of folks here lose their self control. That troll really wouldn't come here if they weren't getting a response. It's kind of like when you were a little kid and your big brother was picking on you. You went to your Mom and her advice was to ignore him and he would quit. Ignore Jessyka and it will quit.

Well, as one of the violators, I will say that I had seen that stickied post by XI, but had never experienced that troll. [There are always new drivers on the road]

Seeing no then-current thread by it, it was a bit of a mystery to me.

I Mod in an MMORPG, and so when I saw that thread, titled as it was, my 'defender of the underdog' reflex was provoked (not that my participation was useful).

What ya wanna bet, that the troll in question knows when to time their outbursts, in order to catch the board whilest our defender is (necessarily) absent?

That one does come across as a Seriously Disturbed Individual, however...

Perhaps a serious investigation to discover the person behind the character, then a word to local authorities, might be in order. Simple enough thing to do, in this day of "Homeland Security" et al.

Just Saying...

I don't think they are thinking about being disrespectful when they ignore the request to ignore the troll, just not thinking about it in the fun they are having baiting and playing with that particular troll.

They are also not thinking about the agenda that troll has or that every time they post to it they are helping that troll do exactly what it came here to do. The troll was right when it said "puppets".

I fully agree with you there and thought the same thing when I saw its post calling them puppets. They aren't thinking about the agenda. I said something similar in my first reponse on this thread:

quote:

(SweetSarijane) I don't have the answer to your question Erin. I guess it's just too tempting an entertainment to pass up maybe for some. S/he comes here under his/her new IDs ever so often and stirs everyone up and gets exactly what s/he's after, which is attention, before being removed yet again. It really is so simple....if the troll is fully ignored, they eventually move on to greener pastures because they aren't getting what they want here.

mistoferin,
First, you posted on the thread as well. Regardless of your reason for doing so, your post is in that thread thus adding to the number of responses. Second, you have every right to think it is "disrespectful" and if you think so then do not post on those types of threads, however, I do not agree, so on this one, we will have to agree to disagree. As long as I am not going against the actual TOS then I have done nothing wrong nor will I be shamed, chastised or feel bad about it. I am not here looking for a mother to chastise me and tell me how disrespectful I have been; even my own birth mother would not do such a thing as even she recognizes that I am a grown woman and am no longer accountable to her. Also, I do not view this as their “house” as if I am attending a dinner party or something just by being here. This reality does not diminish the fact that I do appreciate this site and the moderators. My chiming in on any thread I so choose is not stating otherwise no matter how anyone may attempt to twist it in that direction. In addition, I did not read the moderators request until after I already posted, however, it is of little consequence as in the end all I agreed to when joining this site was not violating the actual TOS, nothing more, nothing less.

Perhaps if you were under my "collar of protection"  these impulsive actions of yours might soon dissipate.

Goodnight all!....Got to be up at 4:00 am...have a date with some fish.....Domiguy has left the building.

Erin,
Thanks so much for your post. For the main part i have a great deal of respect for the site as well as Mod 11.  She has an extremely difficult job.  She tries to enforce the rules.  Sorry if i still do not believe that they have been given authorization to use the art you use in your avatar and others and this is something i will pursue.  They do not understand the severity of this and i have continually tried to talk to them.  Respect goes in both ways.

minnetar

So nice.... then jab, jab, jab.

Stef,
Have you ever in your life made a constructive comment  on this forum or have all your comments been caustic?  Who granted  you as god?
