Hey everyone, I was curious if anyone has ever used craig'slist.com to find or meet someone for BDSM? I was surfing around and found a lot of people looking for vanilla encounters and a few people looking for Dommes and subs.

Yes, and we have had a long term, play friendship come out of it.  Now that was just looking for play partners in the casual encounters section.

Good luck... it seems to be heavily populated with keyboard commandos, at least in my area.
I've lost track of the 'Looking to hook up before midnight' posts, that were put up at 11:59....

I did meet someone through CL.  our relationship didn't work out, but that didn't have anything to do with the fact that we met on CL.  but, I didn't know about CM then too, and he does have a profile here as well.

I met a few people on Craigslist a few years ago.  The relationships never worked out because the people I met there generally had dance cards that were too full.

Im just not in to casual sex or play.

I have used craigslist before. You have to go through the responses carefully and do the hard work of sifting. You may find yourself becoming a BDSM educator for the less aware and the curious. On the positive side, I have been out several times with one Dom I met on craigslist. That led to my decision to rejoion this forum and seek a D/s relationship. Often, the nicest people are younger men (20s and 30s) who want to learn about BDSM. They are often interested in going to educational and social events, and they are dying to go out with older women. You have to make sure they are not planning to live out a reckless fantasy before you meet with them. Some men have no idea what D/s really is; they may equate submissive with sexually promiscuous; thus, you have to closely read what they write and make sure you are both on the same page. It's like anything else that do you in life. Sometimes you work hard with few rewards; other times, great things fall in your lap.

Oh yeah, my bad.

Good to see some folks have had good experiences with CL, I think I'll give it a try and see what happens but I'm not going to get my hopes up because it seems very shady.

all i can say is be careful and stay safe.  i have used it before and met a few sadists who enjoyed beating - not spanking ...at least i found out before they had a chance.

When i looked at the personals there all i saw was blatent prostitution advertisements, men just saying i want a bj and will pay you - using the term "gift you" etc.... sleaze city for my area anyway

Yeah, I've met quite a few people using Craigslist SF-Bay, but have never seen anyone face-to-face.  Most are out of my immediate area, and I don't go to the city much because of the horrendous traffic jams there. 

If you respond to ads, just remember that if you e-mail them, you may never receive a reply.

[Hmmm...that sounds vaguely like another message board that I know and love!]

Jury is still out for me.  Met a few fella's that way, and one is still very interesting to me.
Funniest response I got was a reply reading....

"ok so does it mean you are sally seeking a Date?"

My current playmate and I met on Craigslist. We have been togetehr for about a week now and it seems to be going fairly well.  There might not be a lot of posts for Dominant looking for submissive, or vice cersa, but those few ads that are posted get a flood of responses.  I had more than 50 emails from my post in less than one day.  Most that are looking on CL, though, are REALLY new and tend to be experimenting and not sure what they want or what they are getting into, in my exerience.  If you dont mind someone clueless and in need of training, then it might work for you.

OK, I am in a small area, but looked in the Montgomery, Alabama list.  Is there something I am missing?  I found all the used mowers, lol, but no possible partners.  I looked under the personals but didnt see a category for bdsm, am I missing something or is that option not available here on craigslist in podunk?

Look in the Personals catagory and choose from the following: Women Seeking Men; Men Seeking Woman; Miscellaneous Romance; Casual Encounters, etc.  Then enter a search word, such as "dominant" or "submissive" and it will bring up any postings which contain either of those words.  Maybe it's the area you are in, because in my local city, there has been very little to choose from as well.

Unfortunately, my local area on Craigslist is really bad. I usually observe the San Francisco listings instead but then realize they're too far for me to actually make contact, so I end up just not exploring the listings as well as I should.
