tulipgoose -> Ageplay ~ In my own eyes (6/3/2007 1:59:36 AM)

Okay, so every day I get asked 10-20 times by people here and elsewhere what ageplay is. It is different for everyone, but this is the best I have been able to describe it from my own way of living it. It is non-sexual in context, and non-descriptive of truly particular situations. It merely explains the mindset, and some concepts. Again, this is simply my own "way."

A Peek Into The Mind Of An Everchild

Ageplay is a lifestyle in which adults can find their way back to a more innocent place in their life. Some people call this finding your “innerchild.” I chose the term “everchild” because it encompasses a lifestyle, and an *over all* way of living, rather than just a little voice inside which pops out now and again. To me, ageplay is about allowing my everchild to roam free.

Everyone has an innerchild. It’s that little part of you which pulls your heartstrings when you see cute furry baby animals. It’s the part of you which craves an ice cream sundae with whipped cream, a cherry, and extra nuts. Oh and rainbow sprinkles because the chocolate ones are just plain and ugly…. But… if you don’t have rainbow I *GUESS* the chocolate ones will be fine, if you give me double! It’s that excitement you feel when you win a game of cards. However, innerchildren often don’t stay out very long and find their way back onto the mantel of silly photographs, and cherished memories.

Very few people have an everchild. This is something so rare, so beautiful, so special and delicate. An everchild IS the person who holds this magic within, always. An everchild can quiet their innerchild now and again, to maintain social decency, and courtesy, but they cannot turn that voice off. They cannot push away a need to cuddle, to giggle, to play, to get overly excited over watching a ball of gum twist and twirl it’s way to the little door in a gumball machine at the front of a grocery store. An everchild wouldn’t help letting out at the very least a little pout to the fact that the ice cream shop was out of colored sprinkles. It is after all a rather serious crime! An everchild needs their hand held to cross the street, and they need to be reminded to brush their teeth and scrub behind their ears, or better yet, be scrubbed by their caregiver. Of course it has to be in a nice big bubble bath, with a toy sailboat and rubber ducky! An everchild’s eyes light up at the simplest bits of magic.

The "Everchild" idea is a good prospective on part of the age-play scene.

Everchildren have made great subs in the past.  They hop around and play, giggle at silly things, and are, in general, amusing.  Beautiful little things.. they remind me of that innerchild I wish I had.  In some way, owning one is restores such a hope for having an innerchild.

Everyone has an innerchild, many have lost touch with it and need to be reconnected.  You just need to find a way to reconnect. Great book to read for that is Healing Your Aloneness - Finding Love and Wholeness Through Your Inner Child

You described that so beautifully. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That's exactly who i am. i love that term....everchild. Thank you for posting.

There seems to have be an explosion of threads concerning ageplay and ABs started recently. i wonder why that is. *shrugs* Doesn't really matter i guess. i'm enjoying it.

Thank you. I enjoyed reading this and you gave me a new term to help explain myself. Everchild, I like the way that sounds.

(an aside: I am a picky eater everchild and I dislike sprinkles with a passion)

This attitude is why I despise you.

It's never too late CuriousLord. What can I send you - a skipping rope or a catapult?

Meh.  I still say you're cute.

Interesting term. I never lost touch with my ability to be 5 years old...I guess everchild applies to me. Having the lil girl voice pop out with "Daddy she got a princess balloon for her birthday! _I_ wanna princess balloon for my birthday!" uncontrollably, asking for a pony, making uncontrollable squee noises at the prospect of kettle corn or cotton candy - it's who I am, and who I always have been. It's just that since I met my Daddy, I'm not worried about someone thinking I'm nuts when the lil girl pops her head out to play for a while.
