yeah good luck with a single thread on this board doing that for you....I'd start reading all the threads now, getting out to munches soon and meet people in real life if you really are interested...otherwise trolling elsewhere might be in order.

There isn't one lifestyle. There are only people with individual likes and dislikes. What appeals to you? Are you looking for kinky play, s & m, bondage, power exchange or any combination thereof?

You can find various checklists on the net of different activities. Just fill them out on the basis of what makes you squirm and say "yes please" and what makes you say "ick, not a chance". Because just like every where else, you need to know what you want in order to find someone compatible.

Very interested in what? There's too much in this lifestyle to try and boil it all down. Try going through your own mind as to what things might peak your interest more and go from there. Check out some munches, look different things up on the net, this may take time, but try reading posts here already made. When ya find something spacific and have mroe questions, then by all means...come back and ask.

There really is too much to boil down. Perhaps you should read a few books on the subject (non-erotic) and then come back with more specific questions?

The lifestyle is very different for each and every one of us. Your best bet is to read the other forums, find out more specificaly what it is you find yourself drawn to and start from there. Since there is nothing set in stone, theres no way to try EVERYTHING out. What I like, others here cant stand and vice versa. Until you at least have an idea of what you might want to look into, your chasing your own tail.  I'm not saying dont ask questions, I am saying figure out what questions to ask. AS we say to most people coming on and asking for the intro to BDSM right off... do your homework. Find out what your getting into before you plunge in.

My Blanket Advice for new persons on CM is: Take a MONTH and read the Forums. It will take at -east-that long. [:D]

As a side note, you'll see there is no Lifestyle. The breadth of experience, perspectives and personalities do not make for a Single Path. It would be more accurate to say Lifestyles, if you must apply a label.

I am not big on learning from the online chat thing nor do I believe a new person is anything more than a target for players and abusive situations. Do I believe it is a good place to meet people? YES! However out of 300 emails you might find one person that really is honest and understands the lifestyle.   My suggestion would be as stated by others is read books (NON-FICTION) join your local community and don’t search for the ONE!,  or to fall in LOVE! At least until you have a good understanding of yourself and the way of life you would like to live!   Don’t search for a collar in time it will come. I have been in the community R/l since the early 90’s and until a few years ago did NOT collar anyone. Hey this is serious, unless of course you just want to play the game!
